I went to the Boots Opticians Meta Glasses event tonight… and I don’t think I’d fully realised exactly what they can do!!

Meta glasses are basically normal‑looking glasses that do loads of techy stuff. You can take photos and videos hands‑free, listen to music without earbuds, make calls, and even ask AI questions just by talking out loud.

I’m seeing the benefits for business events, filming rugby, and for those of you who love a run.Interesting – definitely something for me to ponder before my next eye exam!

I really enjoyed being out delivering training this morning. The lurgy that got me in December hasn't left quickly and (without too much of a pity party) I'm having to "manage my energy" as it's still being a bit of a challenge. However when I am in a room with brilliant businesses I think I feed off them as I was bouncing today, their energy, questions and ideas made the session a real pleasure.

Thank you to Invest East Yorkshire / HEY Growth Hub / Invest Hull for organising and trusting me to run these sessions. It really is a pleasure to meet some of the great businesses you have in the area.

I had the pleasure of attending North Lincolnshire Council’s Future Ready Youth Employment Event yesterday - I was chatting with the young people about how they can use LinkedIn to not only find jobs but also research the companies they were applying to work with.

What struck me was a lot of them didn’t know what they really wanted to do - I had a lot of chats about what they enjoyed and then we discussed ideas and industries that suited their passions and skills.

I joke that I still don’t know what I want to be when I’m a grown up and days like yesterday make me think about jobs I’d recommend to younger me now ….. thought provoking that’s for sure!

Also ….. new branding in full show! Thank you Jay Kingman and Nettl Designs for my new maturer look, however my juvenile personality still doesn’t match it some days 😂😂😂

A little later than planned, but I’ve now submitted my CPD for the year and I’m pleased to share that I’ve been awarded Chartered Marketer status once again!

Delivering high-quality training sessions is something I take great pride in, and one of the ways I ensure this is by aligning my training with the Global Professional Marketing Framework from CIM - The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

I consider the training my client is requesting, bring in my experience of what I know would also help them & then look to the CIM to make sure I'm bringing in elements of their Marketing Framework where possible.

Working independently can sometimes feel isolating—there’s no one to bounce ideas off when you hit a creative block. That’s why being a CIM member is so valuable to me, it gives me a "colleague" to bounce off … even if they don’t offer quite the same cheek as my old colleagues 🤣🤣 !
