On Sunday we hosted Aston whites hopeing to get our season on the right path. On the morning of the game we had our goalkeeper and left back unavailable due to injury/illness but we had full faith in the 8 lads available to get the result and performance needed. We started brightly with quick passing cutting the opposition open and after 3 minutes we took the lead with max playing a great ball into Oscar’s feet at the edge of the box who took one touch then whipped it brilliantly into the far corner ⚽️ we extended our lead just before half time with a great passage of play from the team with Jake D winning the ball back in his own half, switched it to max on the left who played it up to Oscar who played it back to Jake D to square it to Jake G in the middle who drove forward beating 3 players before being chopped down at the edge of the box and Oscar drilled the resulting freekick into the bottom corner ⚽️ the second half was abit more even with Aston obviously trying to get back into the game but we defended brilliantly as a team and our stand in goalkeeper Freddie made a few great saves when called upon to keep our first clean sheet of the season 🧤 we still played great football and created lots of chances with the best one falling to Jake G who’s effort smashed the post from outside the box. It was a fantastic team performance from each and everyone of the lads and that’s exactly how we know they can play 👍🏼
