A heavy emphasis on feminism during this week’s reads to help inform my speech tonight at Sheffield’s monthly gendered violence vigil. Run by and , this vigil is a powerful one to attend.

We need to discuss gendered violence in an ongoing way, rather than when one specific case gets a whole lot of media attention. All of these women deserve to be remembered, not just a select few.

Legendary women are everyday people 💫

Business is all about risk taking. As a woman, I’ve noticed that people expect us to be settled. We are supposed to be content with less, and settle for less. I have never been a woman who settles for less.

Risks are meant to be taken, and I would not be running a marketing agency if I didn’t take those risks.

Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that you can’t!

This International Womens Day we at Socia are thinking about the history of the women’s rights movement, which is still ongoing. One of the most pressing current issues is the fight against gendered violence. Counting Dead Women (https://kareningalasmith.com/counting-dead-women/) posts lists of every woman killed at the hands of a man, usually their partner, and it’s astonishing to read.

The names of the dead each month are read out at the The Women's Equality Party Sheffield & Our Bodies Our Streets Vigil on the first Sunday of every month 6pm-7pm on Devonshire Green.

I encourage everyone to become more aware of this issue, especially men. We need your support if things are ever going to change.
