An avid surfer as well as an environmentalist, Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard had never been happy with the environmental impact of his neoprene wetsuit. In the early 2000s, Yvon began searching for an alternative and discovered Yulex, a sustainably-grown rubber alternative. Working with Yulex, Patagonia have since transitioned all their wetsuits to bio-rubber.

So when it comes to what seems like another product campaign, launching the new range of wetsuits, it’s clear that it wasn’t quite that simple. We needed to drive traffic and conversions, but also generate some brand awareness about what Yulex was and why it mattered.

Since 1983, Gramicci have been making hard-wearing outdoor gear, built with movement in mind. Founded in California by legendary Yosemite rock climber Mike Graham, their much-imitated G-Pants and G-Shorts are rightfully regarded as design classics, loved far beyond the climbing wall. Now based in Japan, the brand makes a full range of everyday outdoor clothing, worn around the globe.

We work with their European arm on their digital marketing strategy, and in the first two years, we saw a huge increase in website visitors to their Shopify site. Monthly sessions and visitors both up over 700% in the first couple of years of our partnership.

Founded by Dutch road cycling legend Iris Slappendel, IRIS have a knack for making bright and colourful cycling gear that doesn’t veer into Timmy Mallet territory.

The new season stuff is a prime example of what we’re talking about. Dubbed ‘IRISland’, the range combines patterns and prints from the natural world with a pastel colour palette that instantly stands out in the sea of bland cycling garb.

It’s not all aesthetics either, and a lot of thought has gone into the fit and function of the garments to ensure things stay comfortable during long days in the saddle.
