Do you have a seasonal business, or would you benefit from extra sales generated by seasonal goods and promotions? Around 42% of B2B customers say that their current marketing strategy is working for them, but that implies that over half the businesses don’t. This may be due to many many factors, however I bet a fair amount of those 58% were disappointed with the results because they didn’t plan far enough ahead, and started to implement their marketing when they saw that everyone else was. This then would result in one of two outcomes, either the marketing was rushed to get it out as soon as humanly possible, or the strategy was implemented far too late in the season to have any effect.
So what is the best time to market for a particular season? This would differ immensely depending on the size of the company, the market, and various other factors, however a good rule of thumb would ideally be 3 but no less than 2 months to give you time to start to plan the most effective strategy, get the printing done if required, and work out the most effective time to start the campaign.
I hope this has been of some help. Have you got any tips? Please leave them in the comments below. Also if you think this could help someone else, please tag them in the comments and help them get 2023 off to a good start.
