CHEMICAL COLLECTION DAY

All photo labs have waste chemistry and a legal duty to dispose of it correctly.

Ours is collected by an approved Hazardous Waste carrier for treatment. This goes through a recovery system to remove the harmful silver from it before disposal.
Untreated photographic chemistry should never be poured down a drain to enter the waste water system as the silver deposits would be absorbed into the ground and go into fresh water, potentially harming plant and wildlife.

Recovering the silver from used photographic chemistry not only produces a product that can be recycled and reused, it also helps protect the environment!

For many years now we have been working with The University of South Wales providing film/processing services for their photography students.

We are pleased to be a sponsor for the 2022 USW Documentary Photography Grad Show which will showcase some of their amazing work in print.

The show runs from 10th - 17th June at St Davids shopping centre, Cardiff.

To celebrate film photography day we thought we'd share this with you.

An Agfa CT18 beautifully preserved from May 1974, complete with instruction booklet and even a little cloth posting bag to send to Agfa Australia.

This went through our old film processing service and produced incredible results.

Our Story

Peak Imaging was originally the mail order arm of Propix Ltd. an independent laboratory based in Sheffield in the early 1970s. Offering professional photographic services and products to the serious amateur as well as those photographers making a living in the industry, our reputation for quality and reliability soon gathered pace across the UK.

Our workforce has an amazing average of 23 years service at Peak Imaging and the wealth of craftsmanship and experience is there for all to see. Producing prints for Canvases, frames and acrylics from all forms of original and still processing film through E6, C41 and B&W all day long, we have a strong foothold in both traditional and digital creation.

Our modern, custom designed laboratory is a place for procedural efficiency, meaning orders are delivered accurately and promptly and at a realistic price. Local customers have a pleasant place to discuss their needs and a display reception to whet their ideas and concepts.
