Can I ask for your honest opinion? 🙏

I've spent a long time writing a free ebook to help people build their own website, without needing any technical skills or a big budget.

But here's the thing. I'm a web developer. I've been doing this for 15 years. And sometimes the hardest part of sharing what you know is remembering what it felt like not to know it.

So before I shout about it too loudly, I'd love a few honest sets of eyes on it.

Specifically, I'm wondering:

👉 Does it actually feel useful to someone who isn't techy?
👉 Is the language clear and easy to follow, or does it slip into jargon?
👉 Is there anything missing that you'd want to know?
👉 Would you actually read it — or does it feel too long / too much?

You know that moment when something finally works after hours of testing?? 😌

Maybe it’s a tricky bit of code, a tangled system, or a plan that kept falling apart. An endless trial and error, adjust, test, fix… and then BOOM! It all clicks into place.

Here’s what it usually feels like:

😌 Relief: Frustration melts away.
🎉 A burst of joy: "Commme onnnnn!!!!!".
💪 Satisfaction: Knowing the customer will be happy.
😊 Quiet pride: Nobody will really know the effort it tool.
🙌 A little celebration: Fist pump, smile, and happy dance.
🤍 Awe: Seeing the beauty in how everything fits together.
😅 Realisation: The moment is short-lived, that's just the first step.

It’s a good reminder: progress isn’t always smooth, but it is worth it.

🌲 Hidden Mechanics Behind A Website🌲

Behind a website is a well oiled machine. Engineered to perfection performing very special functions that work for your business.

This week, I’ve been building custom CRM integrations for Marthrown of Mabie to make their customers booking journeys smoother, and online. I'm mapping the entire workflow from initial enquiry to repeat customer.

It’s a lot of testing, tweaking and talking to systems until they finally behave 😅 every step means that each customer event enquiry or glamping booking results in faster answers, clearer info, and a warmer welcome.

🚀 Just launched a scalable, real-time metrics system for a global Windows server fleet using AWS AppSync and DynamoDB!

The business is now able to report on things like patching compliance, agent installations, and audit events with a centralized data model reducing dashboard load times by almost 1 minute.

✅ Fast GraphQL queries
✅ Pre-aggregated metrics
✅ Dynamically filterable dashboards

Next step: Optimizing performance even further. Right now, this dashboard is accessed by 1000s of people worldwide. An edge cache on this data would make regional load times much quicker still.
