Wearing the right colours often means you feel you need less makeup.

Add the right lippy and blush and your look is supercharged.

Often, when women don't know what lipstick suits them, they'll often resort to soft summer colours, which unless you are a summer are very 'flat'.

When Mae joined the Colour Club this week, she came from a long line of family members who'd already had their colours done. Who experty work the process, drawing stylish admiration whereever they go.

The family mix was 50% warm and 50% cool. What would Mae be? The bets were on!! Def cool, then winter or summer? This piece of the puzzle was a bit trickier, as Mae is a more rare dark summer, cusping with winter. The nuances of the trained eye, and the hands holding the drapes. The balance is created with those darker, deeper summer colours vs the intensity and brightness of winter.

Magenta - the bluest and brightest of the Winter pinks. Not a colour we see that often, but does tend to show up in active wear.

Especially good on Sprinter and Jewel Winters.

Knowing your colours gives you the courage to make these really bold choices.

#711 is HoC Magenta pink lippy, which is my personal favourite pink.

Checks - set to be a pattern trend this AW26.

By definition, checks are made up of linea lines which cross vertically and horizontally to form squares. The overall effect is more geometric, which aligns more with straighter body shapes.

This isn't to say curvier body shapes can't wear checks, but the silhouette of the design needs to be softer.

Honouring your architecture is key to successful styling.

My second fav colour from my palette, turquoise blue (also very flattering on Springs).
Uplifting on supercharge.

Whilst 'sporty' isn't a word I'd use to describe my style, I can step into the vibe if I can glamorise the look.

In a previous life I actually worked in the leisure industry for 11 years. My uniform then was leotard, tights and trainers. I'm never happier then when I am 'doing', and I certainly learn through action.
