One of Sheffield's biggest and most loved cultural events is returning this September - and Graysons Solicitors will once again be Premier Sponsor.

I'm particularly pleased about this announcement because I originally introduced Art in the Gardens to Graysons seven years ago, believing it was a partnership that made perfect sense for both organisations.

Since then, the relationship has gone from strength to strength, helping support an event that attracts thousands of visitors and showcases the very best artists, makers and designers from across the UK.

Art in the Gardens has become a major part of Sheffield's cultural calendar and a fantastic example of how businesses can support events that make a genuine difference to city life.

Tickets go on sale on June 1st for this year's event, which takes place at the Botanical Gardens on September 5th and 6th.

Another brilliant heritage launch recently.
We were proud to support the unveiling of the new Bevin Court heritage project in Woodhouse following a £129,454 award from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The site - now operated by St Anne’s Community Services - once served as a wartime training camp for the Bevin Boys during the Second World War.
The project will now explore and share that hidden history through:
✅ historical research
✅ oral histories
✅ exhibitions and interpretation
✅ community events
✅ volunteering opportunities
✅ environmental improvements and more.
The launch event brought together historians, stakeholders, residents and community organisations from across Sheffield to hear about the plans and future vision for the site.
A fantastic example of how heritage projects can combine storytelling, education, wellbeing and community engagement.

Thanks to National Lottery players.

Palm, Sheffield’s first Caribbean Garden Bar, is celebrating six successful months after establishing itself as one of Kelham Island’s most talked-about new hospitality venues.

I was pleased to help organise and support the original VIP launch, attended by guests including ’90s supermodel Heather Stewart-Whyte, former Sheffield Wednesday/Leeds United defender Jon Newsome, Miss South Yorkshire Whitney Dsane and many others.

Since opening, Palm has built a strong following for its Caribbean-inspired Bottomless Brunch, with the recent Bank Holiday period proving the busiest in the venue’s history in terms of bookings and revenue.

The venue has also introduced a brand-new menu, refreshed drinks offer, weekly reggae nights and a new website as it continues building momentum heading into summer.

A packed dancefloor, memories flowing all evening and a wave of new volunteers and contributors.
Friday night’s sold-out King Mojo reunion at The Library in Attercliffe proved just how much affection still exists for Sheffield’s legendary teenage club.
People travelled from across the region to relive the soul, Motown and R&B soundtrack that once made King Mojo one of the UK’s most influential music venues of the 1960s — a club where artists including Stevie Wonder, Ike & Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and Small Faces appeared early in their careers.
The event also generated major engagement with the wider Mojo Rising heritage project, with attendees signing up to:

* share oral history memories
* volunteer with future activities
* contribute ideas for a future community mural
* join upcoming pop art workshops led by artist Angela Hardwick.

A huge thank you to the fantastic DJs who gave up their time to help recreate the original King Mojo atmosphere, along with all the volunteers and supporters who worked behind the scenes to make the evening such a success. Thanks also to The Library for hosting the event.
The project continues to demonstrate the power of heritage-led community engagement and cultural storytelling. The project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players. The National Lottery Heritage Fund

Lovely to catch up with some of my former Sheffield Hallam University students this week as they celebrated the end of their third year.

After four years teaching PR, communications and digital media, I stepped away from academia last year to focus fully on heritage communications, publishing and strategic storytelling through Neil Anderson Media and Dirty Stop Outs.

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching was seeing students grow in confidence and go on to secure exciting careers in the communications industry and beyond.

Wishing them all every success for the future.

Tomorrow night’s sold-out King Mojo reunion at The Library will not only recreate the soul, Motown and R&B soundtrack of Sheffield’s legendary teenage club — it will also give people the chance to help shape part of the venue’s future legacy.
Guests will be able to meet artist Angela Hardwick, give their thoughts on a proposed community mural celebrating King Mojo, and register interest in future pop art workshops inspired by the club’s famous visual style.
The event forms part of the wider Mojo Rising heritage project celebrating 60 years of the legendary Pitsmoor venue where artists including Stevie Wonder, Ike & Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and Small Faces appeared early in their careers.

Thanks to National Lottery players.

Another major heritage announcement we’re proud to have supported at Neil Anderson Media.
St Anne’s Community Services has secured £129,454 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for an ambitious new project centred around the hidden wartime history of Bevin Court in Woodhouse, Sheffield.
During World War Two the site served as a training camp for the Bevin Boys – young men conscripted to work in Britain’s coal mines to support the war effort – yet remarkably little of that story has ever been formally recorded.
The new project will combine historical research, oral histories, exhibitions, interpretation, environmental improvements and community engagement activities running through to 2028.
Projects like this demonstrate the power of heritage storytelling when combined with wellbeing, education and community participation.
Congratulations to the team at St Anne’s Community Services on securing this important funding.

Thanks to National Lottery players.

A full circle moment for Neil Anderson Media.

More than 30 years ago, Neil Anderson supported the media launch of Nonnas while working at Sheffield City Council - one of his very first PR projects. Working alongside his brother Richard, the campaign helped introduce what would go on to become one of Sheffield’s most recognisable restaurants.

Neil has known Maurizio and original business partner Gian for over three decades, and went on to work closely with Maurizio following his transition to sole ownership - delivering PR around major moments including the visit of Sylvester Stallone and multiple award wins.

Today, Neil Anderson Media is proud to be leading PR activity for Nonnas’ 30th anniversary.

As part of the campaign, the team is inviting customers to share their memories and photographs from across the past three decades.

Neil Anderson was invited to present at the Environmental Quality Mark (EQM) Awards Evening at the National Emergency Services Museum in Sheffield a few days ago.

The Nationwide EQM awards were presented alongside Phil Mulligan, Chief Executive of the Peak District National Park Authority, recognising organisations delivering meaningful environmental and community impact.

Organisations recognised included Custombuilt Ltd, Kids Plant Trees, the National Emergency Services Museum, Bolsover Woodland Enterprise, Grave Expectations and Owlthorpe Fields Conservation Group.

Neil also received an award on behalf of Sheffield Blitz Memorial Trust, recognising its role in supporting organisations through the EQM process.

The evening highlighted a growing shift - organisations are now expected not just to tell their story, but to demonstrate clear, measurable impact.

Cohabiting is rising.
Wills aren’t.

Six in ten adults still don’t have one.

Working with Graysons Solicitors, the message is simple:

No will = no protection (if you’re not married).

'Common Law Marriage' is still a myth. It still doesn't exist.
