My darling, irreplaceable Ozzy has let us know it is time for him to leave us.

He has been with me for nineteen and a half years, almost half my life. He has been the sweetest, gentlest, most loving companion I could have wished for. The vet is coming tomorrow to ease his journey over the rainbow bridge.

Holding all and any of you dealing with grief at this time of year close in my heart.

Mohammed is in the hospital with a fever of 40C.

He struggles constantly with chest infections and breathing problems because his immune system has been so damaged by malnutrition.

His fever is not coming down.

His parents are scared and exhausted.

They are all going days at a time without food, and medical costs mean it will be even harder for them to eat.

💚 Collective village - I need you! 🍉

I know I live in an online village full of good people, people who choose to see, people who believe in collective power. People who know we are one big village - and village, I need you now.

I have been supporting this beautiful family in Gaza for a while now. Huda and I speak almost every day. I sing funny children's songs and lullabies to Mohammed over WhatsApp. We share photos and goodnight messages.

I do this from the comfort of my safe home, my safe life. Huda does it amidst the debris of her home and her dreams. War has destroyed their jobs and they rely on the kindness of strangers to meet their basic needs. The effort of pleading for donations, pleading to be seen, is exhausting her. And, at nearly 8 months pregnant, she is feeling desperate about providing for their new baby, as well as 14-month old Mohammed.

🙏 They need a reliable income.

💔 One off donations are not enough.

I am looking for beautiful humans to commit to a regular monthly donation towards Huda's basic needs: food, water, nappies, baby formula, medication, winter clothes.
