‘You can’t go wrong with a candle’ that’s what I used to say when people said I was difficult to buy for. We have so many tried and tested scents and we trial new ones all the time. How to burn a candle

There is nothing as disappointing as buying a candle only to find that when it burns it doesn’t burn to the edges. Instead it forms a narrow tunnel. This is called tunnelling. It happens In one of 2 ways. The first is because the candle maker uses the wrong wick and the second is because of the way the candle is burned. Assuming your chandler knows what they’re doing, you can avoid tunnelling by following this simple tip. Measure the width of the candle tin in inches. Each inch represents 1 hour. If your candle container measures 3 inches across the that means that the candle should be burnt for at least 3 hours to burn to the edges - especially on the first burn. If it doesn’t burn to the edges on the first burn it never will. However, if your candles does tunnel, all is not lost. You can scoop out the wax from you tin with a spoon and burn it in chunks in a candle burner. You’re welcome!

Although we are not yet planning to attend open air markets. we are happy to have been invited to take part in the Craft and Flea virtual market. Hello - Diane and Sue from elli fu candles hope that everyone is able to keep safe and well during this difficult time. All the markets and venues we normally attend are closed, which we wholeheartedly support. With all this spare time and with work slowing down we intend to support the NHS as volunteers.
