I'm usually incredibly loyal to the ice-cream van across the road from Flintstones and I know it's a firm favourite with many guests too. But in this lovely weather I gave myself a special treat from Ellie’s “Ronaldos” Ice Cream Shop, Sheringham yesterday after walking into town. This one is a scoop of Biscoff and a scoop of rum and raisin. The trouble is there are so many flavours to choose from that two scoops aren't really enough!

Could not love this more! The reception class at Newhall Primary School in Harlow have created their own Ellie’s “Ronaldos” Ice Cream Shop, Sheringham role play area. Ellie’s kindly donated tubs and napkins to help the vision come to life! Thanks to Newhall Primary teacher, Catherine, who made it all happen after being inspired by her trips to Ellie's in the school holidays.👏 😍🍦

30 indie . No.12: Ellie’s “Ronaldos” Ice Cream Shop, Sheringham

Another Sheringham institution is Ellie’s ice cream, run by Martin Jackson and family for over 30 years.

There is a dizzying choice between over 60 flavours of Ronaldo Ices and sorbets, 100 per cent natural, using local ingredients and made in Norfolk.

The fresh Norfolk fruit ice creams are always popular, but it is also a delight to choose from their more unusual flavours including Apple and Calvados, Christmas Pudding, Lemon Meringue Pie, Norfolk Lavender or Sicilian Kiss.

All of the ice creams can be served as milk-shakes. Ellie’s caters for oat-milk and vegan choices too.

Our favourite is to buy an ice cream then walk a few yards down to the seafront to watch the sunset over the sea or - in summer - to buy a ‘late night’ ice cream after dinner.

As they say, beautiful colours and tastes to match.
