Yesterday morning, I swapped the desk for the stunning surroundings of New Hope Daylilies in Colebatch, South Shropshire, catching up with owner Fiona Pidduck and learning more about this fantastic local business, and supporting their first open day of 2026.

For those unfamiliar, New Hope Daylilies specialises in cultivating and growing an incredible range of daylilies, attracting visitors from across the UK (and even internationally) to their beautiful gardens and open days. It’s one of those hidden Shropshire gems that reminds you just how many amazing businesses we have right on our doorstep.

Visits like these have become one of my favourite parts of running CoffeyClub.

When I launched as a sole trader back in March/April, I hoped it would give me the opportunity to work more closely with passionate business owners, learn about different industries, and help tell their stories through social media — most importantly, giving them time to manage the business!

A few months in, that’s exactly what’s happened…

From manufacturing and engineering to horticulture, retail and professional services, I’ve genuinely enjoyed the creativity that comes with creating content, developing strategies, and helping businesses connect with their audiences online.

A morning well spent… 🌸

Today, I had the pleasure of visiting , catching up with owner, Fiona Pidduck, learning more about the incredible work behind one of the UK’s leading daylily nurseries.

If you’ve ever watched , you may already be familiar with this beautiful horticultural business, nestled in the South Shropshire countryside. From the passion and expertise behind the scenes to the stunning variety of blooms on display, it’s easy to see why visitors travel from far and wide to experience it for themselves.

Open weekends are just around the corner, running every weekend from 20th June through to 26th July.

Visitors can explore over 400 varieties of daylilies, browse a huge selection of potted plants, enjoy homemade cakes and refreshments, and soak up the atmosphere of this unique rural setting…

🎨 Pop-Up Exhibition 🎨

This year’s events will also feature a pop-up exhibition from acclaimed Shropshire artists, Marian Watson, and .e.pickett, adding even more colour and creativity to the experience.

Me rewatching my absolutely *banging* reel for the 47th time before posting it… only for it to reach a grand total of 12 people. 🤝📱

“Yep. This is the one. This is going viral.”

Instagram: *best I can do is your mum, your mate Dave, and one bloke from Swindon.*

But honestly? That’s social media sometimes.

Not every post will explode. Not every reel will hit thousands. And chasing ‘vanity metrics’ alone is one of the quickest ways to lose what actually makes your business stand out in the first place.

The businesses that build real momentum online are the ones that:

☕ Stay consistent
☕ Lead with personality and authenticity
☕ Share their values and purpose
☕ Focus on connection over perfection
