We’re celebrating 17 years in business by dedicating 17 trees to the Broughton Hall Estate re-wilding scheme.

The fabl was founded in 2006 by our very own Mags Walker and from our base here on the estate we work with clients locally, regionally and nationally.

Mags said: “We challenge our clients to come out of their comfort zones and consider things differently. We often say that working with us is like taking a walk on the wild side, so it seems fitting to mark 17 successful years by supporting the estate’s re-wilding.

“It also seems a fitting time to say thank you to all our wonderful clients and the professionals past and present who have all helped make the fabl what it is today. It has been an incredible 17 years of storytelling one way or another and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds for the fabl!”

We’ve been thinking about Artificial Intelligence and its place in marketing after much has been made of ChatGPT’s capabilities. We used it to write the latest fabl blog looking at ChatGPT-4’s strengths and limitations.

Wren’s annual kitchens brochure is known as ‘the big book.’ It’s the company’s flagship consumer communication and one of its most powerful marketing tools.

We’re proud to have been designing, writing and managing the print production of the book for more than a decade.

During that time Wren has grown from being the newcomer in a competitive marketplace to its current ranking as the UK’s number one kitchen retailer. They’ve recently expanded into bedrooms and have also launched in the USA.

We’ve pledged to plant a tree for every publication we produce, so this is another piece of work that not only reads well and looks good but does good too.

We redesigned food service suppliers Wellocks’ website. This was a central part of their integrated content strategy, to make it the central hub for Wellocks’ customers, prospective customers and all their content.

We developed an animated site revolving round “The Perfect Ingredient” – how these are grown or produced, tested and transported.The website took Wellocks’ existing branding and developed it to reflect the high quality and exclusivity of the products. This included animations, illustrations and high quality imagery.

We also produced mini documentary-style videos, featuring James Wellock visiting farmers and suppliers. On location, he gets the full stories behind the perfect ingredients, and then visits chefs to see them using these ingredients.

Our friends at ICB wanted a ‘young and fun’ feel to launch a new rum product, to appeal to their target demographic.

We created a visually striking, stylised illustrative design featuring the same backdrop of palm trees on a beach across the range but with a different tropical bird and background colour to denote each flavour profile.

It’s rhubarb season and this gin cream liqueur is a delicious twist on a classic. The silkiest cream and finest Slingsby gin meet sweet, caramelised rhubarb for a delectably different drink.

Our client Kikkoman discovered that we’re more than able to work to tight deadlines, turning around a series of compelling print ads for the trade press in five days from briefing to completion.

Using the brand’s distinctive hexagonal logo we showcased its delicious versatility in the kitchen, through a variety of recipes with outstanding results.

When chef Simon Gueller asked us to launch his new venture as a private chef, we were happy to step up to the (Michelin-starred) plate.

The result is an identity as direct and focussed on perfection as Simon himself is, with the strapline This time it’s personal. The accompanying bold logo is a statement of intent. It’s contemporary, precise and considered, exactly like Simon’s approach. We worked on a tight deadline to deliver the results which really make Simon stand out.
