So today is a work from home day. I know there are a lot of computers in the pic but it just makes life easier, if you can have 4 screens then it saves switching between applications all the time.
For those of you flicking to pic 2, yep that is a travel plotter for sign making. We normally keep it in a van when working on site so if there are any emergencies from the client we can help out straight away and make signs on site. A handy tool that runs off the power from the van and a laptop.
When starting Axiya I worked from home all the time so I am kind of used to it. The few tips I would give to anyone new to working at home are....
1) Give yourself a designated place to work. I know not everyone has an office but a kitchen table, a kitchen work top with a stool anywhere that you can designate as a work area.
2) Don’t sit on the sofa and watch tv no matter how tempting it may seem. You probably don’t do this at work so it won’t work at home. You will find the quality of your work will dramatically reduce
3) Set yourself hours to work, this gives you a routine and makes it easier to manage tasks and gives some discipline to your day. It doesn’t have to be the full day as most people will be less busy at the moment.
