You finally decide you want to implement an SEO strategy into your business but have no idea where to start. So here are some characteristics to consider when you’re reaching out to find the best agency for your business.
1) If you schedule a meeting with an agency and they use words like “quick”, “guaranteed”, “easy”, “we have a secret plan that works for everyone”, “starting at only £99/month?”, RUN! SEO is not a quick and easy results process, sometimes it can take months depending on your niche and competition. SEO can be an investment, it goes along the lines of if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
2) The number one characteristic you want to see when searching for the right SEO agency for you is relationship. If you schedule a meeting, the provider needs to take time to get to know you and your business. The goals you want for your business have to be understood on both sides. Remember this is your dream, the agency is just one of the guides to get you to your goals.
3) If it makes you feel more comfortable, ask for past clients' websites and metrics the agency has worked with previously! There is nothing wrong with asking this, and if an agency doesn’t want to send you any of their past work for “privacy” reasons, they’re most likely a money hungry agency and haven't had great success with clients. You think about it, if you own a successful and reliable SEO agency, why would you not want to show a potential client your positive results with past clients?
