Very few people want the uncomfortable part that actually creates it…👇

➡️ Pitching brands.
➡️ Following up.
➡️ Hearing nothing back.

Doing it ALLLLL over again anyway.

When I generated £3k in one week from UGC deals, it wasn’t because I suddenly became more talented. It wasn’t because the algorithm blessed me with going viral or because brands magically discovered my content. ❌

It was because I stopped waiting for permission, stopped feeling sorry for myself thinking “why can’t I make that money?” and grafted my arse off. 💣

Most creators stay stuck because they’re waiting for the perfect moment. The perfect portfolio. The perfect confidence level. The perfect number of followers.

Not perfectly.

If you’re new to UGC, you need to understand something… 👇

Not every opportunity is legit. ❌

And not every brand reaching out has good intentions. ❌

Here are red flags I’ve seen (and beginners fall for)

🚩 Fake emails�If the brand email ends in .com or .com instead of a proper domain, look into them more. Real brands use company emails. Always check the website.

🚩 “Buy the product first and we’ll reimburse you.”�No.�Legitimate brands send products directly. You should never have to pay upfront.

🚩 No contract (or a vague one)�If there’s no clear agreement outlining deliverables, usage rights, payment terms, and timelines, that’s a no from me!

🚩 “We’ll put you on retainer” (with no paperwork)�If someone promises ongoing work but won’t sign anything, it’s just words.

🚩 “Create the videos first and if they perform well, we’ll pay you.”�Absolutely not. 🤢 �You don’t work on commission unless that’s been agreed in writing. Your time is valuable.

🚩 Gifted collabs dressed up as paid opportunities�If they’re only offering product but expecting full ad-style deliverables, that’s not a paid job.

🚩 “Brand ambassador” roles that require you to sell for commission�That’s affiliate marketing, not UGC.

If it feels unclear, rushed, or too good to be true then slow down.

A real brand:�• Has a proper contract�• Has clear payment terms�• Doesn’t ask you to pay upfront�• Respects your time and skill

Protect your business like an actual business.

When a brand runs your content as ads, they’re using it to make money.

Why would that be included for free? 🤔

Typical structure I see (and use):
• Base rate = content creation (e.g. £250)
• 30 days paid usage = +30%
• 3–6 months = tiered increase
• 12 months = significantly higher
• Whitelisting = additional fee
• Full buyout = priced very high (or not offered at all)

Because your content has value beyond the day you film it.

Imagine building a library of videos that brands keep paying to use. 🤌
