In this new series, I will break down what is working on social media right now, so you can implement these strategies into your social media and flourish!

(Because let’s face it, everything changes so quickly on social media, and it can be hard to keep up!)

In this episode, I wanted to talk about talking head videos.

These are booming on social media right now for a couple of reasons:

šŸŽ€ People buy from people; this type of content allows people to get to know the person/people behind the brand.
šŸŽ€ No one can copy them, not exactly. There is only one you in this world, which makes this content more unique.
šŸŽ€ (I haven’t heard anyone speak about this, but I think it’s a really important point.) It’s a content type that AI can’t replicate very well at the moment - watch the video to hear why I think this.

Struggling with hooks for your content?

Well, let’s start with the basics.

A hook is a sentence, video frame or image that has been engineered to grab attention and stop their scroll and is usually delivered in the first 3 seconds of a video. It’s like the teaser or appetizer for your content and aims to spark:

šŸŽ€Ā Emotion.
šŸŽ€Ā Curiosity.
šŸŽ€Ā Immediate interest.

Why do you need a hook?

To get people to stay and read/watch your piece of content. People are bombarded with so much content nowadays and if they aren’t hooked in, they will just scroll past.

So here are some hooks that have done just that for me and clients recently.

If your content isn’t getting watched, it’s because of this šŸ‘‡

This is the exact hook formula I used with a client that helped generate 235,000+ views.

The reason it worked so well is that we didn’t just rely on one type of hook; we used 3 together:

šŸŽ€ Visual hook: something fast, unexpected, or slightly shocking to stop the scroll
šŸŽ€ Verbal hook: a line that opens a curiosity gap (like ā€œI can’t believeā€¦ā€)
šŸŽ€ Written hook: a strong first line/on-screen text that makes people think

When you combine all 3, you give people multiple reasons to keep watching.

And honestly, in a world where attention spans are tiny, that makes a huge difference.

If you’re creating content for your business (or your clients), this is such a simple thing to improve but it can completely change performance.

So here is how the first month as a full-time business owner went…

Firstly, I just want to say thank you to everyone for all the lovely messages, comments and support. It really does mean the world.

I’m feeling so so grateful after this month, it’s been a bloody good one:

šŸŽ€Ā Started off the month in Berlin.
šŸŽ€Ā Had 20+ enquiries and welcomed new clients.
šŸŽ€Ā Did 4 content shoots.
šŸŽ€Ā Did a creative shoot with loads of fun props.
šŸŽ€Ā Hoped on another plane.
šŸŽ€Ā Ended the month doing my favourite thing, skiing.
