Your website might be perfect for your business today. But what about in two years' time? 🤔
It's a question I think more business owners should ask before choosing how to build their website.
Wix or WordPress? Both have their place, but choosing the wrong one can leave you frustrated later.
Here's how I tend to explain it.
🏠 Wix is a bit like renting a furnished flat. It's convenient: everything is ready to go, but you're limited in what you can change.
🔑 WordPress is more like owning your own house. You have more to look after, but you also have much more freedom to make changes as your needs grow.
And that's the important bit.
If you just need a simple website to get your business online, Wix might do the job perfectly well.
But if you're serious about improving your Google rankings, attracting more visitors, generating enquiries, and growing your website as your business grows, I generally recommend WordPress.
Of course, WordPress isn't a magic wand. A badly built website is still a badly built website, no matter the platform! 😄
I've put together a practical comparison covering design, SEO, flexibility, ongoing costs and maintenance, including the pros and cons of both.
