I did something today that I haven't done for ages...flower arranging! What's this got to do with business you may be wondering? Well, it was a creative wellbeing session hosted by the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and very enjoyable it was too. Nice to have some time out after a busy couple of weeks.
Thanks to Wendy Dean and Michaela Tabinor from WOW Flowers UK for leading the session at Commerce House.

Sometimes it's the unposed photos that really tell the story. I was delighted by this one from Barrow Photographer, snapped at the Independent Impact Awards in London, last week.

I think that my face says is all - radiating joy from the honour of the award, of being in the room with so many amazing PR professionals, and just being in the moment.

Honoured to win a coverted place on the Independent Impact 50 winners list for a second successive year.
One of my associates compared it to being at breakfast on The Traitors - checking out who had 'survived' from last year (around half of us had) as the winners entered the room of The Swan Restaurant @ The Globe Theatre.
A wonderful afternoon of celebration and a recognition of the impact indies can make as trusted PR advisors.

Fresh from the incredible energy of the CIPR Midlands Awards, we're absolutely delighted to be shortlisted in the 2026 Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards.

To be recognised at a national level, alongside so many brilliant practitioners, means a lot.

Huge congratulations to everyone else shortlisted (great to see so many Midlands colleagues across the different categories) - the standard is always exceptional.

Fingers crossed 🤞

A little glimpse of the joy and festivities of the CIPR Midlands awards last week. Such a stunning venue!

What a night - still smiling after attending the inaugural CIPR Midlands Awards at the Library of Birmingham last night.

After avoiding the obstacle course that is the M6 and A38 M (an overturned lorry and two collisions causing the tailbacks), I made it just in time to settle in and sink a glass of bubbly before my opening speech (one helping to facilitate the other rather nicely).

To be recognised as a finalist in two categories alongside such talented professionals is something I don’t take lightly and I was delighted to receive the Gold award as Independent Practitioner of the Year. The Midlands is packed with exceptional PR talent, and that’s exactly why moments like this matter – they shine a light on the depth of talent we have right here in our region.

What made it even more special was sharing that moment with such fantastic people – committee members, peers and friends who continue to raise the bar for our profession every day.

As Chair of CIPR Midlands, I’ve seen first-hand the passion, commitment and sheer quality of work happening across our community. These awards were created to celebrate exactly that – and last night proved just how needed they are.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the evening possible – from sponsors to organisers, our wonderful MC, comedian and actress, Jo Enright, and, every single entrant who took the time and effort to apply.

Here’s to continuing to champion brilliant PR in the Midlands 💜

We’re delighted to share that Tillymint has been shortlisted for two categories in the CIPR Midlands Awards.

To be recognised by an independent panel of peers makes this even more special.

These awards celebrate strategic thinking, measurable impact and creative excellence - all things we’re passionate about delivering for our clients every day.

Huge thanks to the clients who trust us with their stories, to our brilliant associates who enable us to deliver a full end-to-end marcomms service and to everyone who supports what we do (including sleeping dogs who often provide a snoring SFX to online meetings).

Whatever happens on the night, we’re incredibly proud of the work behind these entries for and categories.

A brilliant evening at our CIPR Midlands PR Masterclass, in Birmingham, last night - staged as as part of the West Midlands Business Festival👏 It was an honour to be invited to speak and put forward why professional PR is an essential strategic business function to an audience of business leaders.

It's always a privilege to be in the same room as so many talented PR professionals and to learn from peers working across different organisations, sectors and specialisms. The event was a timely reminder that PR is truly multi-faceted – shaped by the nature of the organisation, its audiences, whether it’s B2B or consumer, and the services or products it represents.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and that diversity of practice is one of the strengths of our profession.

Hearing practical insights from award-winning campaigns reinforced just how strategic, creative and adaptable PR has become, particularly as it continues to align closely with marketing and wider business objectives. The conversations in the room – both on stage and over a drink afterwards – were just as valuable as the presentations themselves.

Thank to Leopard Co team for being such wonderful hosts.

Above all, the evening reminded me that there is nothing better than being in the room with a supportive industry network. Learning, sharing experiences and championing each other’s work is what keeps our profession moving forward. Huge thanks to speakers Laura Rudolph Chart.PR, Daniel Gabriel and Rachel Carroll, attendees and everyone who helped make it such a positive and energising event.
