Did you know that the last set of Burton Unions were made in Dukinfield? I worked at the company who made them in the 1990s. H & JE Buckley ltd who were at the time the last independent brewery coopers in England

This feels like such a big moment, I can't even begin to tell you 🤣

There are doubtless more comprehensive histories, but this is the most definitive story on the current position of union brewing in the UK and globally. Thanks go to Alex for commissioning and CAMRA for seeing it over the line.

Took me over a year to pull together, so do give it a couple of minutes of your time today 😉 I've got to extend my gratitude to everyone who helped me piece this important story together, including Thornbridge Brewery, Springbanks Brewery, Carlsberg Britvic, Wheatlow Brewery, Burton Bridge Brewery, and lots more besides.

A moment of reflection and thanks towards Gareth and Epochal Brewing for telling the tough side of this tale despite being in such a terrible position. And thanks to the countless people behind the scenes in Glasgow, Scotland and beyond who helped me to find the truth. You all know who you are and I'm grateful.
