Yesterday I went to the Women in Tech SEO Festival — and I came away with my head buzzing (in a good way).

SEO never stands still. Algorithms change, best practice evolves, and just when something feels settled, Google shifts things again. What I love about that is the constant learning — testing, sharing ideas, and focusing on what actually helps real businesses grow.

I left with pages of notes and plenty of insights I’m already taking into my client work — answering the questions I hear all the time:

How do I attract more leads and more leads from high intent clients?
What should I focus on next?
How do I stay consistent with blogs and newsletters?

That’s where my work sits. Clear strategy, steady support, and SEO that helps businesses stay visible without burning out.

Grateful to do work where learning directly benefits the people I work with.

SEO is one of the most sustainable, introvert-friendly ways to grow your visibility.

Once your foundation is in place, it keeps working quietly in the background. It doesn’t require constant posting, thinking and planning content or chasing trends. It just continues to grow and grow.

It simply makes it easier for the right people to find you, while you get on with running your business.

Need a hand with your SEO? Let me know or check out my blogs for SEO tips. I'm also thinking of running a FREE SEO workshop early 2026 so if that's something you're interested in DM me and I'll add you to the wait list.

Some thoughts I’ve been mulling over this chilly Monday…

Entrepreneurship isn’t just about building something on your own, it’s about finding the people who steady you, challenge you, and make the work feel lighter.

For years, I found that support easily on social media when I was running my wedding and event flower business. Shifting careers into SEO strategy has meant finding connection in new places, and reconnecting with what collaboration can look like now.

I’ve just started week two of relationship-based marketing program (which I found through brilliant newsletter), and it’s been a breath of fresh air. It’s reminded me how powerful it is when entrepreneurs genuinely support one another - sharing knowledge, being generous with ideas, and growing together instead of feeling like we’re competing.

I also love being part of the community - another space built on encouragement.

If you’re feeling a bit disconnected from your work or wondering where your people are, you’re not alone. Sometimes the most sustainable way to grow isn’t through louder marketing… it’s through stronger relationships.

I’ve written more about this on the blog, including my own shift from florals to SEO and the importance of building a solid SEO foundation that actually supports your business long-term.

You can read it at clareashbrook.com or through the link in my bio. Let me know what you think.

The week is off to a good start (if I could whistle it would have been a long one!)

I’ve been working on a client blog and stumbled across a keyword with 60,000 monthly searches… and a 1% difficulty score. I find this kind of stuff exciting... I know!

If you’re not too familiar with SEO, here’s what that actually means:

When a keyword has high search volume, it means people are actively looking for that topic every single month. When the difficulty score is low (in this case, just 1 percent), it means there are hardly any other businesses competing for it

When you're trying to gain more online visibility, this is where you start. Find those relevant keywords with a high monthly search volume and a low difficulty score.
You can then go on to create a high-quality blog or landing page, answer the question well, and have a genuine shot at ranking quickly.

SEO is all about strategy, timing, and finding those opportunities that quietly move you up the rankings and bring more eyes to your work.

If you’ve ever stared at a blank page thinking, What on earth do I write for my blog?, and will it actually get read? I’ve put together something that’ll help.

I’ve shared the blog-post template I use when writing my own blogs and my clients. This same structure helped move one of my blog up 48 spots and now ranks on page one of Google.

It keeps your writing clear, gives your reader what they actually need, and supports your SEO at the same time.

Inside, I break down:
• how to open a blog in a way that draws people in
• how to naturally use keywords without sounding robotic
• the sections that make your content easier to read and more likely to rank
• what to do after you hit publish so Google actually finds it

If you’re a creative, consultant, or small business owner trying to get more eyes on your work without posting constantly, this template will help you get there.

Sold out yoga retreats seven months early.

Joanna and I have been working together for over a year now.

I keep a c lose eye on her SEO strategy - tweaking it when needed, writing optimised, well researched (keywords and topic) blogs - we post three a month on average, and I keep on top of Google Business Profile updates and optimisation.

It's all part of my monthly maintenance support.
