What a fantastic first day at Stockton Waterfront Urban Park! 🍦
Firstly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council for giving us the opportunity to be part of such an exciting new development for the town. It was a privilege to serve so many families yesterday, and seeing children enjoying an ice cream while making use of this fantastic new park made all the hard work worthwhile.
We’d also like to thank everyone who came to support us. Your kind words, smiles and custom meant a great deal to our family business.
We’ve seen both the positive and negative comments online. We completely understand that people are passionate about supporting existing local businesses, and so are we. We are a local family-run business, born and based in Stockton, and have spent years serving communities across the borough at schools, parks, events, care homes, hospitals and neighbourhoods. We don’t see ourselves as taking away from anyone—we simply accepted an opportunity that was openly advertised by the Council.
No business should ever be criticised for applying through the proper channels and operating within the permissions granted. Any concerns about the Council’s decisions are for the Council to answer, not the businesses that have been invited to trade.
Our aim isn’t to compete unfairly; it’s to add to what the park offers for visitors. If more families choose to spend time at the Waterfront, that’s good for Stockton as a whole. Many of those visitors will also use the cafés, shops and other businesses in the town centre before or after their visit.
To those who have defended us online, thank you—it hasn’t gone unnoticed. To those who have concerns, we respect your opinions and genuinely wish every local business success. There is room for everyone when Stockton continues to grow and attract more visitors.
We’re looking forward to many more sunny days, serving great ice cream with a smile and being a positive part of our community.
Thank you, Stockton. Here’s to a fantastic summer! ☀️🍦
