The Expedition Cruise Network operates in a really exciting niche, bringing together expedition cruise lines and travel pros. It gives its members the knowledge, tools, and connections to promote this unique way of exploring the world.Iāve worked with ECN for a while, and was so happy to be asked to help with their brand refresh.This wasnāt about reinventing the brand, it was about refining it. How could we evolve ECNās core identity without losing its essence?
With strong industry recognition already in place, the focus was on creating cohesion, flexibility across touch points, and a refreshed sense of quiet confidence. Every change, while subtle, was made with purpose to help the brand work harder.The refreshed identity stays true to its roots while introducing:
ā A new, abstract, and dynamic boat icon, softer and much easier on the eye for a forward-thinking, innovative feel. It also works really well as a standalone symbol.ā A refined, reversed colour palette, shifting from corporate blue to a chalkier dark blue, complemented by calm teal hues. Confident yet approachable and professional - without feeling cold.ā A simple and consistent lock-up system across sub-brands, bringing clarity and unity to all touch points.The result is a brand that feels modern, expert-led, and globally minded. It balances professionalism with approachability, is grounded in expertise, and inspired by adventure.
