Getting your marketing materials printed? A few simple checks before sending your artwork to print can save time and money.

Here are three common mistakes to look out for:
1️⃣ Low-resolution images
Images that look great on screen can appear blurry or pixelated in print. Aim for 300dpi at the finished print size for sharp, professional results.
2️⃣ Forgetting bleed
If your design has colour or images running to the edge of the page, you'll need to include bleed. Without it, you could end up with unwanted white edges after trimming which don’t look great.
3️⃣ Using the wrong colours
Colours can look different on screen compared with printed materials. Screens use RGB, while print typically uses CMYK, so it's worth checking your colour settings before sending your artwork.

Taking a few minutes to check your artwork can help you get the best results from your next print job.

If you don’t work with print every day some of the terms can be a little confusing…

Lead time
How long it takes to produce and deliver your printed materials once your order and artwork have been approved. If you’re planning for Christmas, it’s worth thinking about this now.

Bleed
The extra area of artwork that extends beyond the final trimmed edge. It makes sure your colours and images run right to the edge without leaving an unwanted white border.
