Before you put a Shopify site live, there are 5 things people forget all the time — and they are usually the exact things that cause problems after launch.
Here is your quick pre-launch checklist:
1. Test the checkout properly
Do not assume it works just because the site looks good. Run a full test order and make sure payments, emails, discount codes, and the full checkout journey work exactly as they should.
2. Check your shipping settings
Wrong shipping zones, missing rates, incorrect product weights, or delivery options left on by mistake can create a mess very quickly. This is one of the most common launch issues.
3. Remove the password page
You would be surprised how many stores go “live” but are still hidden. If the password is still on, customers cannot shop.
4. Add your policy pages
Shipping, returns, privacy policy, terms, and contact details matter more than people think. They build trust and make your store feel legitimate.
5. Test everything on mobile
Most people shop on their phones. If your mobile menu is clunky, buttons do not show properly, or sections overlap, your conversion rate will suffer.
A Shopify site is not ready just because it looks pretty.
It needs to work properly, feel trustworthy, and be easy to use from the first click to checkout.
