The rain might have made an appearance, but it didn't stop a brilliant turnout for last night's Aura event here in Manchester - well, we're used to it up North!☔

The topic of 'open and honest conversations' generated so much food for thought, with a thought-provoking panel discussion, some painful stories shared and great questions from the floor🎤.

Thanks to host Bethan Blakeley for leading the charge and declaring the session a safe space for all - what's discussed in Rain Bar, stays in Rain Bar...😉. And thanks to Amy Middleton for organising such a relaxed, warm and welcoming event which enabled such positive open discussions to take place👏.

Bringing together likeminded people from all sides of the research spectrum - clients, agencies, suppliers and independent researchers - it was a much needed reminder of the power of connecting face to face, supporting and learning from each other🤝.

Here's to many more events like these that unite our brilliant northern research community❤️.

Creating a safe space where honest views can be shared – and listened to - is vital to the work we do. Great insight literally depends on it. But is it always easy to cultivate this same safe space in working relationships?

This is just one of the many themes up for debate at next week’s free AURA event in Manchester - Working Well Together: Open and Honest Conversations.

Join host Bethan Blakely and a fantastic panel from all sides of the research industry - agency, client and supplier - for a candid, supportive discussion in a relaxed and informal setting. Think likeminded people, sharing ideas and experiences, learning from and helping each other 🤝.

Panellist and DJS Research Associate Director Jamie Lawson shared his thoughts ahead of next week’s event; "I'm really excited to be taking part in this panel. Given the pace of change and challenges the industry faces, it's more vital than ever that we have events like this where we can talk about how we can all work better together."

AI was top of the agenda at this year’s MRS B2B Research Conference, but the importance of human connection was the real standout theme for Associate Director and B2B lead Rachel Hancock. https://djsresearch.co.uk/thought-leadership-blog/b2b-customers-are-people-too-takeaways-from-the-mrs-b2b-research-conference🤝

In her latest article, Rachel shares her key takeaways from the event which includes some timely reminders about the value of stepping back, to never assuming you ‘know’ your audience and remembering - quite simply - that B2B customers are people too🙂.

📢We're hiring! We’re on the hunt for a Junior Research Executive to join our growing team! https://ow.ly/rJB450ZViiu

⭐This new entry-level role is a fantastic opportunity to join our people-first, employee-owned agency as a member of our newly ‘twinned’ research teams, Kinder Scout and Foxlow Edge. We’re looking for someone who’s eager to learn, develop new skills and ready to get stuck in!

🤝As a Junior Research Executive, you’ll provide essential support across a broad portfolio of public sector and employee engagement research projects. You’ll be hands-on from day one, learning on the job by supporting and shadowing more experienced colleagues while building your own research skillset. If you are naturally inquisitive, self-motivated, and keen to make a positive difference through the work you do, this could be the role you're looking for.

🫵There are lots of different skills that make a good researcher, and you’ll learn them all at DJS Research. But as a Junior Research Executive, it’s the resilience, positive attitude and can-do mindset YOU bring to the role that will be key to your success. This position is open to school or college leavers, graduates or people who are looking for a new challenge or change in direction; previous research experience is not required. It’s what you can bring to the role that matters most.

🎉As a Junior Research Executive and employee Partner at DJS Research, you’ll enjoy 25 days holiday, with additional days at Christmas and on your birthday, regular social events, well-being initiatives and a paid volunteer day each year. Not to mention our annual tax-free profit share scheme (eligibility after 12 months’ service). This full-time role offers either a hybrid working arrangement or a remote working contract.

And that's a wrap: DJS Research Greater Manchester Ringway Challenge complete!☑️🙌 🥳

Covering over 320km, across 20 consecutive days, spanning all 10 boroughs of the Greater Manchester region🥾, our amazing challenge team have raised over £1,300 (so far!) for two fantastic local charities - Blythe House Hospice and Stockport Without Abuse👏.

On Saturday we finished where it all began, back at Strines train station and just a stone's throw from our head office. The sun was shining as Alex Noden, the driving force leading this year's challenge, completed the final leg of our relay; it's been a real team effort this year but Alex really does deserve a special thanks - we literally couldn't have done it without her 🫶.

We may not have had blue skies all around the ringway but, rain or shine, the varied landscape around Greater Manchester did not disappoint🐝. These snaps are just a few of our highlights from the final Southern stage, including a well-deserved aperol spritz enjoyed by one of our thirsty walkers 😉🍸.

A HUGE well done everyone to who took part in this year's challenge, including our charity partners and all four-legged friends🐶. And thanks to everyone who's supported us so far - there's still time to donate through the link below...

The end's almost in sight - over 170 miles down, less than 30 to go! 🥾

Yesterday we began the final stage of our GM Ringway Challenge, the Southern leg, which will bring us back full circle to where it all started in Strines this Saturday🚶‍♀️🚶.

Over the last five days our incredible challengers have trekked from the heart of Wigan right across to Manchester city centre, crossing waterways and muddy fields, through leafy suburbs and vibrant urban areas🏙️🌄. And it's been fantastic to spot some of our clients along the way too.

In Media City our crew couldn't resist stopping for a selfie outside the iconic Imperial War Museum North📸; a much-valued member of the Museums and Galleries Insights Consortium who our Culture team have worked closely with for many years.

This year's challenge really has been a herculean effort, with some of our Partners travelling several hours just to get to the starting line .👏 But it's not over yet...

To show your support in our final miles, head to our JustGiving page. Every penny raised really does make a big difference to our incredible charities, Blythe House Hospice and Stockport Without Abuse, who give so much to the local community🫶.

And just like that, we're over 100 miles into the GM Ringway challenge - and still going strong! 🥾💪 We've had all weathers so far 🌧️⛅🌬️and seeing our JustGiving totaliser creep up is keeping everyone going through the gales and sudden downpours.🚶‍♀️🚶🐕 https://ow.ly/498Q50ZOA5T

Across the Northern stage we've seen some of our senior leaders donning their packs and poles, with Alasdair Gleed and James Hinde lucky enough to add in a b**r garden pitstop in the sunshine😎. Yesterday, Danny Sims smashed the 10th leg from Blackrod to Wigan, before handing the baton over to the Western stage crew🙌

Shout out to Jamie Lawson, Anthea Thompson and Julie Hollingsworth who are trekking across to Leigh today, with an extra special mention for Julie who completed the Great North Run at the weekend🏃‍♀️. Over the next two days she'll be moving even closer to smashing her own personal target of covering 5 million (yes MILLION) steps in 2026. 👏👏 And with Alex Noden taking part in THREE Ringway legs already, with another one to come, it's fair to say we have some true warriors in our midst🫶.

Thanks to everyone who's donated so far to help us raise much-needed funds for our incredible local charity partners, Blythe House Hospice and Stockport Without Abuse. With 10 days to go there's still plenty of time to show your support; simply scan the QR code, or click the link above, to head to our JustGiving page. Every penny raised really does make a huge difference❤️.

20 miles down, 180 to go! 🥾We've had a cracking start to our 20-day relay around the epic Greater Manchester Ringway, all to raise funds for Blythe House Hospice and Stockport Without Abuse🫶.

On Monday, DJS Research Ltd partners Aoife Lynch, Rebecca Calderbank and Daniel Thompson, were joined by the lovely Julia and Sue - both trustees of Stockport Without Abuse. Together they smashed the start of the eastern leg, from Strines to Marple and took in some beautiful sights along the way. Not forgetting faithful hounds Tigger and Caleb, who walked their paws off too! 🐾

Yesterday, Alex Noden and Gill Redfern and Emily Passey from Blythe House Hospice faced all weathers on the scenic second leg, from Marple to Broadbottom🌧️. And today the baton has passed to Mark Byrne and Tom Hotson from DJS team Cloud; here's hoping the weather improves for them along the Broadbottom to Greenfield stretch! ⛅

Members of our challenge team will be tackling a leg of the ringway each day, working anti-clockwise and finishing back at Strines train station on Saturday 26th Sept - just 5 minutes away from our head office 😄. It's a real cross-company effort, with partners travelling from across the UK to join in - all to raise money for these two fantastic local charities🫶.

Show your support by scanning the QR code, or click the link below, to head to our JustGiving page; all donations, no matter how small, can help make a big difference🙂.

Go team!🙌
