🥾 Step up and support Suffolk families at the Home-Start Hike 2026!

Taking place this September 19th, the hike starts and finishes at Kingfisher Leisure Centre in Sudbury. Choose from four countryside routes of 3, 6, 13 or 26 miles.

Take part on your own, with the family, alongside friends or as part of a business or community team. Dogs are welcome too! 🐾

The three-mile route also includes a Letter Hunt for children, prizes and a special appearance from Bluey.

Every pound raised will help Home-Start Suffolk support local families facing mental health challenges, loneliness, domestic abuse, family breakdown and other difficult circumstances.

Choose your distance, enjoy the Suffolk countryside and walk for a good local cause.

Join us on Friday 16 October for free pop-up defibrillator training, delivered in partnership with Sudbury Defibrillators, Family First Aid Academy and Abbeycroft.

📍 Kingfisher Leisure Centre: 4pm–6pm

There’s no need to book, just rock up and take part, completely free of charge!

Learning how to use a defibrillator and what to do in an emergency can make a real difference. Come along, learn something new and help spread the word. ❤️

Welcome!

This month, we are delighted to welcome Ben Turnbull to the Moore Green team. Ben joins us as a Client Manager and will be working predominantly alongside Managing Partner Matthew Wilkinson, supporting his clients.

Ben joined Moore Green in October 2026 and has worked in Practice since 2008, working with clients all over Suffolk and Essex. He has looked after a wide range of clients, ranging from tax returns for Sole Traders right up to larger owner-managed limited companies. Ben likes to build long-lasting trusting relationships with his clients, in some cases from start of self-employment right up to retirement. Ben embraces changes in technology and enjoys assisting clients with changes that can free up more of their time.

In his spare time Ben enjoys spending time with his family, his two young boys keep him very busy. Ben also has a keen interest in watching Formula One and football, following the highs and many lows of Sunderland.

We wanted to get to know Ben a bit more so asked him some probing questions!

What inspired you to get into accounting?
I always had a strength with numbers so accountancy was a perfect fit.

What do you enjoy most about working with clients?
Being able to guide them along the whole journey from starting working for themselves for the first time, to retirement and helping them navigate all the twists and turns along the way.

What is one accounting myth you’d like to bust?
Accounting is boring – working closely with clients to work out ways to minimise tax and advising them of the end result is rewarding.

If you could give one piece of advice to new business owners what would it be?
Find an accountant as soon as possible and not when you think you need advice.

What Excel shortcut could you not live without?
Ctrl + Shift + L (It turns filters on and off)

What is your favourite way to relax after a busy tax return season ?
A trip away with the family

Tea or Coffee?
Tea! but could live without either

Seventeen years later, Mizelli’s daughter Azariah has joined the nursery. And Joan came back to help recreate that photograph.

Mizelli knew even before her daughter was born that Woodpeckers Private Nursery was where she wanted her to go.

Some of the staff who cared for her are now caring for her daughter too.

As Woodpeckers celebrates its 25th anniversary, this seemed a lovely story to share.
