If you hadn't of guessed, it's nearly Christmas! It's the time where normally we'd be all visiting family, catching up with friends and generally having a good break. Obviously, the 2020 festive season is going to be different for the reason we all know about, so I've wrote a list of five things that both I and you can do over the next few weeks to both enjoy the time as much as possible, as well as also potentially helping your future self....

Here I look at five ways which you can both enjoy the next few weeks, as well as also helping your future self.

I’m back with another post after a while and even though the world still faces the new normal, some of the things I enjoyed pre-lockdown are now starting to return. One of which is live motorsport and specifically Formula One. Okay, it’s not quite the same without any fans in the stands and when you watch it on the TV, the whole thing feels a bit ‘weird’, but for the first time since March I finally have some live racing to watch! You’ve probably noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately. I won’t lie, I’ve kind of put this blog on the back burner over the last few weeks due to a mix of things. Believe it or not, lockdown has felt like a blur to me. It seems like I’ve spent the last two to three months without stopping, which is crazy to think with the world having been ‘on pause’ lately. What a few months it’s been for me! It feels like I haven’t stopped! I can’t be the only one feeling like this?

It’s been another weekend during the COVID-19 pandemic and another big virtual car race took place featuring lots of famous drivers. But this one has done more harm than good. If you’re a motorsport fan like me, you’ve probably seen over the last 24 hours or so a rather stupid move done by real-life IndyCar driver Simon Pagenaud while competing in the 175 First Responder iRacing challenge. The PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned) theory model is one of the first things I was taught on my Masters course earlier this academic year. Without wanting to bore you too much, the idea behind the model created by Gini Dietrich helps a business or organisation plan their marketing strategy in the most effective way possible. When it comes to marketing and public relations, there’s four different ways that an organisation can market the product they’re trying to sell, the service they’re trying to provide or the information they’re trying to get people to hear, read and see. You might have noticed a few trends in the last few blog posts I’ve written here – a lot of them talk about video game companies and some of the negative things they’ve been doing in the current situation the world faces. After two rather damming posts from me on what EA and the official Formula One series have been up to, this time I’m going to be writing something more positive about a virtual sport. Before I get going with this post, I apologise now if this sounds more like a rant rather than me sitting down, making a list of genuine reasons as to why I want to write about something then doing it. But I need to get this off my chest and hopefully some of you reading this will feel the same as I do the way things currently are. [ 827 more words ]

EA seem to do everything to annoy their stakeholders. Surely that can’t be write in the world of PR?

It’s now into the third week of the Government’s lockdown of shops, bars, clubs and non-essential businesses and I’m sure like me you’re a bit fed up by now of isolating, even if it’s the right thing to be doing. In these troubling times, thousands of good stories have appeared in the news and online about positive things celebrities, businesses and even the general public are doing to help one another and ensure this virus is around for as little time as possible. With the UK now in official lockdown and with sporting events around the world being postponed due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak, one way in which clubs, teams and in this case drivers are doing to continue their battles is by competing online in the comfort of their own homes. So what does this mean from a Public Relations point of view? [ 605 more words ]
