Part of my recent projects has been the ability to maintain person to person meetings.

In a day and age where technology is at its best, where possible, I enjoy meeting face to face.

Whether it's a simple conversation over coffee or a tour of a significant building, all branding and marketing stems from incredible stories.

The ability to let someone show me what they adore, share the stories and meaning behind something, then the joy I get of doing my best to convey that.

Yes, logo and typography are about shapes and colours, but I personally enjoy trying to tell a story in that. So it becomes more.

Social media silence as of recently, due to work with various projects in the pipeline.

Keep your eyes peeled!!

I have, however, realised my approach maybe considered different to others, using a pen and paper. Maybe its my love of traditional writing or university pen rendered.

Armed with a simple red book, trusty pen and the idea of letting all my ideas out on paper. Personally, this process has always benefitted me.

AI and access to so many variations of 2D CAD, I still prefer to start with messy sketches before tightening up my ideas.

The idea of a single bright book, with a pen that I can keep topped up, means I have the controlled ability to make notes or sketches whenever and wherever, and hopefully not lose my book.

The pen itself is a favourite of mine, from calligraphy, I often see fountain pens as undervalued.

Lastly, the final photo, I have chosen to show, with the least aesthetic sketches to is the reality of coming up with ideas. Social media is all about highlight reels and perfection, when behind the scenes is all about the 99% failed attempted before the final solution.

Out with the old, in with the rebrand.

martial arts club.

I have been student of this club for years, throughout it's venue changes, lock down survivals, and peaks and troughs of students capacities.

The instructor managed to keep his foot in with local shows and contacts he's known for years, keeping students coming with his experience.

It became clear, when new students began to ask about the history of the club and wanting to represent it now, that maybe something had to develop for the image.

I met with the head instructor about this and he agreed to look at my proposal for a new idea of some sort.

Using the old logo, I created a very similar aesthetic, mainly incorporating a belt and miners wheel to represent the location and type of club as glance.

More on this to follow.

📷Photography is something I’ve always enjoyed.

These vintage cars and tractors aren’t just subjects — they’re reminders of the kind of things I grew up around.

I don’t just take photos for clients.
Sometimes I shoot just because I love it.
This set is from various trips to vintage shows, where the details and character of every vehicle caught my eye.

More photography posts to come — not just work, but the things that inspire it.

Gothic meets elegance.

The couple came with a bold range of ideas: gothic, romantic, and inspired by the mysterious beauty of poison gardens.

They didn’t want traditional — they wanted something that felt like them.

From typography to the simplistic feel, I really enjoyed this spin.

The font chosen, the calligraphy and gothic language, were a huge and very interesting part of the process.

Slide one shows their original references. Slide two is my interpretation: a custom illustrated design for the rear of their wedding invite, weaving in symbols, and a slightly cartooned gothic aesthetic.

From Sketch to Celebration.

One of my favourite parts of design - seeing simple ideas come to life. The levels of progress anything can go to.

From quick notebook scribbles to real, lasting details at a wedding event.

What started as an initial invite design project, developed into an unexpected logo and ornament at a huge day of celebration.

Clean, personal, meaningful.
