A Nottinghamshire pub will soon undergo a pricey upgrade that will provide it with an essential feature managers hope to be popular with punters 🍺

National pub chain JD Wetherspoon has had its plans approved for a brand-new beer garden to be set up at The Picture House in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The Fox Street pub, which is fittingly an old cinema, currently has no outside area.

Wetherspoon previously said it intended to invest around £825,000 to give customers outside seating they can use in better weather.

Plans recently approved by Ashfield District Council include a new walled area, packed with dozens of tables, a pergola and festoon lighting, and dotted with greenery.

The land that will be turned into the beer garden is currently undeveloped land and car parking spaces.

⏰ Important:
• The church’s last open day is Wednesday
• We need all donations by Tuesday
• We will be collecting donations on Tuesday

Tinned food, pasta, rice, cereal, long-life milk, tea/coffee, biscuits, tinned fruit, sauces, spreads.

❌ We can’t accept:

Fresh/frozen food, opened items, alcohol, out-of-date food.

We’re ( Saintora Van man Services) putting together a community food and toy appeal in Mansfield to support vulnerable families, children, and care homes locally.

We’re collecting:
• Non-perishable food items
• New or like-new toys

We’re also reaching out to local businesses who would be happy to help by acting as drop-off points, where people can leave donations for us to collect.

This is a community effort — whether you can donate items, help spread the word, or offer a drop-off location, every bit of support helps.
