Last week I created an online portal and checklist for a new podcast client who is launching a podcast from scratch.

Yes, there was a lot on the checklist,

It included:
- Equipment and environment
- Software and accounts
- Podcast prep
- Episode prep
- Launch prep

Within each of these sections was a checklist of everything required, from the type of microphone, creating cover art, where to find podcast music and more

But... I love a list, and although it looks daunting, getting them all ticked off is so satisfying!

I last minute booked a cruise to the Faroe Islands, Norway and Shetlands on my own and it was the most incredible experience!

From watching hundreds of dolphins, watching scientific talks, going to photography workshops, visiting amazing places, stargazing nights with astronomers and aurora hunting, this holiday couldn't be more me!

Going on a trip on your own is something I think everyone should do, more than once!!!

I'm sorry but HOW FAST DID MAY GO!!!??

Actually this whole year is flying, it's been a bit of a whirl-wind for me, changing jobs, moving out of the city and a lot of other stuff going on too!

So I am really enjoying the end of month reflections!

I recorded a podcast episode with which got released in May. It was a nerve wracking moment for me but being a guest on his podcast was extremely rewarding and I am looking forward to more opportunities!

🎨 I have had a branding project on the go, I can't wait to show you this but it's still in the sign off phase so bear with! - side note, this means I have capacity for a NEW BRANDING CLIENT, so hit me up if you need a logo suite for your business!

I have also signed two new clients this month, both in the podcast industry, so stay tuned to hear more about those too! 🎙️

It's nearly the weekend though- so have a good one whatever you're doing! I am hoping to go camping in Pembrokeshire! ⛺

Google announced their updated G icon- and it has a gradient....what do we think?

The use of gradients has been somewhat a debate in the design world- where using them can be aesthetically pleasing and strategically appropriate, it can also be troublesome....creating a banding effect when printing and making it difficult to embroidery.

On the flip side, gradients can look great....so here are my favourite well known brands who use gradients in their logos!

🎉 Client work ⚡

Adam hosts a YouTube channel (and Instagram) filled with real talk about mental health and how life on two wheels is good for the soul, and the brain!

🚲 I have witnessed myself how much exercise can help with mental health, but there's something really special about biking and the community surrounding it!

He asked me to create a sticker style logo for his channels, (something he can use as a sticker design too) and also a Youtube banner.

👌The benefits of a good banner!

This can be for linkedin, YouTube, Facebook or any other platform where a banner is used.
Don't forget about it, because a simple but informative banner can be crucial in capturing a lead or customer.

⭐Top tips-

- Keep within your brand guidelines - Your brand designer should be providing you with brand guidelines which will explain a number of things such as colours to use, typography and logo safe spaces. So turn to these if you are going to design your banner yourself and make sure everything is cohesive.

- Don't include too much text - a busy banner is a confusing banner, so keep text limited. A short, clear message about what you do or offer is enough. ♥️

- Contact Info or Call-to-Action - Include your Website and social media icons for other platforms you're on, and a CTA (optional) like “Follow for Tips”♥️

- Consistency With Platform Dimensions - Make sure to optimise the design for each platform (Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, etc.) to avoid cropping important content.♥️
