Norwegian black metal pioneers Emperor official have been confirmed as the first headlining act for the fifth anniversary of Fortress Festival set to take place on 29-30 May 2027 at the Scarborough Spa in North Yorkshire.

This will be Emperor’s only and exclusive UK performance in 2027.

Gary Stephenson, Fortress Festival founder, said: “It's our fifth anniversary of Fortress in 2027 and we're pulling no punches this time. Emperor, one of the biggest names in black metal, will close the festival with a headlining performance to show why this band is still such a phenomenon 20 years after their last studio album. We've sold out every edition of Fortress so far, and we expect no less to happen in 2027. So secure those tickets, and we will drop another dozen or so worldwide live debuts, UK exclusives and eye-watering bookings very soon for you all.”

Here's some more info about the upcoming Azels Mountain release 👇

The band's third full-length album, “Echa Krwi”, will be released this June. The band continues its descent into darker and more reflective territories, channeling themes of memory, blood, sacrifice and transcendence through a colder, more expansive musical expression. “Echa Krwi” draws inspiration from classical Polish music, literature, and the spiritual weight embedded within ancestral landscapes.

The album artwork was completed by Sirkis, with photography by Zaćma Visual Studio and a refreshed logo by Christophe Szpajdel. On the production front, the material was recorded at M23 Studio, with mixing and mastering executed by Satanic Audio. Further information and pre-order details will be revealed shortly. Azels Mountain is also confirmed to perform live at Gothoom Festival in Slovakia, scheduled for 24-25 July 2026, with more live dates to be announced soon.

Nadchodzi nowy album Azels Mountain! Zaplanowana na czerwiec premiera trzeciego krążka zatytułowanego „Echa Krwi”, ukaże się nakładem Pagan Records. Nowy materiał to dalsza eksploracja mrocznych sfer, skupionych wokół wewnętrznych przeżyć i duchowych poszukiwań. Zespół dotyka tematów pamięci, krwi oraz poświęcenia, ubierając je w zimniejsze, bardziej przestrzenne formy muzyczne. W porównaniu z poprzednimi dokonaniami, „Echa Krwi” przynoszą wizję mocniej zakorzenioną w polskiej kulturze, literaturze oraz duchowym klimacie wpisanym w narodowe dziedzictwo artystyczne.

Za oprawę graficzną odpowiada Sirkis, sesję fotograficzną zrealizowało Zaćma Visual Studio, a nowe logo stworzył Christophe Szpajdel. Materiał zarejestrowano w M23 Studio, a miksem i masteringiem zajęło się Satanic Audio. Kolejne szczegóły oraz informacje o starcie przedsprzedaży zostaną ujawnione wkrótce. Tego lata zespół wystąpi również na słowackim Gothoom Festival (24–25 lipca 2026).
