Clayesmore School - https://www.clayesmore.com/
Head's Welcome.
Choosing a school is not only about results or facilities. It is about finding a place where your child will be known and supported, and where their learning is taken seriously from the very beginning. It is, of course, a deeply personal decision. Every child is different, and every parent wants to find a school where their child will quickly feel confident and able to flourish.
We are a warm, kind school, and we are pleased that so many visitors notice this. It matters because children do best when they feel safe and respected, and when they are encouraged to find their voice and grow into grounded young adults, able to thrive in the years ahead.
Our pupils are known as individuals and taught in small groups by teachers who care not just about performance, but about who they are and how they learn. This builds confidence and a willingness to engage: to ask questions, to persevere, and to attempt things that may feel difficult at first.
We aim for the best possible academic outcomes for the diverse range of students who join us. Some will go on to Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities; others will move directly into employment or vocational pathways. Our task is to help each young person find a route into adult life that is interesting, realistic and fulfilling for them. Teaching, careers guidance and wider school life are shaped around this principle. At Clayesmore, these things are planned carefully, not left to chance.
Our LEX programme plays an important part in this work. It is a five-year programme that develops the skills, habits and confidence pupils need for further study and adult life. Clayesmore is a purposeful and ambitious community, but it is also a humane one. Kindness is not a slogan; it is how people are treated day to day. Pupils are expected to contribute, to think about others and to grow in independence, supported in ways that are steady and consistent. They leave well prepared for what comes next, whatever their starting point.
I hope these pages give a clear sense of the school. More importantly, we would very much like to meet you and your child so that we can begin to understand what will help them thrive. Do come and see the school for yourself.
