This is a beautiful read from my very talented friend and designer, Jocelyn Banks
Her approach to clothes is completely aligned with everything we believe in at House of Colour.
When you’re dressing for a wedding it’s about more than finding “something to wear that fits the brides dress code” Our clothes are very personal and should reflect who we are, fit our bodies beautifully, flatter our shape and work in harmony with our colouring. Jocelyn understands this instinctively and designs with the person at the very heart of the garment.
Jocelyn made my dress for my son’s wedding in 2022 and is now creating another for Gareth and Anna’s wedding this June. They are very different weddings (Scotland in the snow to Austria/Italy in the summer heat)
As a Stylist dressing ourselves for an important occasion can feel like a busman’s holiday! I love the process with Jocelyn Our conversations are easy and focused because we start on the same page – my body shape, colour palette and style personality are already clear. From there, Jocelyn’s skill is the magic that turns vision into options and then reality.
If you have a wedding coming up and want to feel confident, comfortable and completely yourself on the day, understanding your colours and style makes everything else fall into place
If you’ve ever wondered what couture really means, this is a fabulous read:

What is couture? Read my latest blog to dive into my world. It can be stressful at times , it requires a lot of patience too but for me it’s so worth it when I see the smiles and sometimes tears ( in a good way ) on my clients faces when they try on their outfit for the first time
