I’ve been asked a few times recently how I created a QR code for my contact details – for free.

So… voilà 🙂

The video shows how I’ve done it on Samsung / Android, but here are the steps so you can do it yourself.

👉 Tap Your profile / My profile
👉 Tap Share
👉 Select QR code
👉 Let someone scan and save your details

iPhone (iOS 17+)
👉 Open Contacts
👉 Tap My Card
👉 Tap Contact Poster or Share Contact
👉 Choose QR code

💡 Top tip
I save an image of my QR code and use it as my lock screen wallpaper.

Handy for networking - just wake the phone, scan, done.
No typing. No spelling mistakes. Just scan and save.

Simple tech. Free. Job done.

𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Currently I’m involved in Project 100, supporting with marketing.
Project 100 Hub is a community-led initiative aiming to raise £100,000 to support and improve facilities at Thetford Town Cricket Club.

My involvement started with volunteering one Saturday morning at Chapter 15 in Riversdale, Thetford, alongside my sister.

While we were there, I got chatting with a few volunteers from Thetford cricket club. The conversation turned to a new initiative they were working on. With a nudge from my sister, I mentioned my background in marketing.

I then started working with Kim 'Locky' Lockwood on Project 100. From the outset, it was clear just how much passion there was to support the local community and make something positive happen.

From there, things moved quickly.

I’m now helping Project 100 by setting up social pages and creating posts to build awareness and momentum. Most of this has been done from my phone using Canva. Graphics, layouts, posts. Simple tools, used properly.

It’s been a good reminder that the things you do without thinking are often the things that make the biggest difference.

Project 100 launches tomorrow evening (7th) at Thetford Cricket Club.

It's good to give back.

You do not need complicated software to create content.

Most of my content is made using a small toolkit and creating from my phone:

Canva for quick graphics
CapCut for simple video edits
ChatGPT to shape ideas
Business Suite to schedule and stay consistent

Simple tools. Real content. Used regularly.

To add to my previous post on local networking…

Last week I met up with Ashley from The Thetford Property Expert at Tall Orders Thetford for breakfast and a proper catch-up. We ended up picking each other’s brains on all things business and marketing.

Afterwards, we took a walk around town, popping into local businesses and spreading a bit of awareness about what we both do.

We spent some time at Grow Indoor Plants, where we had a really open chat about the challenges of running your own business, but also the opportunities that come with it. After that, we popped into Harmony Health for another good conversation.

Talking to other small businesses really makes me appreciate just how much marketing knowledge I have, and how often I’ve taken that for granted over the years.

I’m still early days with JG Marketing Services, but I’ve really got my teeth into it now.

Everything does happen for a reason.

If I hadn’t had the blip of a stroke 16 months ago, and my hand hadn’t been forced to change direction, I probably wouldn’t be exploring these new opportunities at all.

I’m very transparent about the fact AI has helped me during recovery. For me, it’s not about replacing the human side of marketing, it’s about putting all the tools to good use. Mixing automation with real conversations, real relationships, and real understanding.

I’m looking forward to the rest of this year and putting my 20+ years of marketing experience to good use.

Over the past month, I’ve been supporting Project 100 Hub by helping create and share their story through social posts. I've really enjoyed being a part of this. Nice to use your skills and help the community.

Worth noting, all the design and posting has been done via my phone. You can do a lot with the right tools. I'll post more about this.
