Another great Tuesday at BNI Perseverance ๐Ÿ‘‹

Lovely to welcome James Vincent from Green Shield Group as our visitor this week.

Kieran Sweeny also welcomed our newest member to her very first meeting, Rachael Currall of The Final Finish Cleaning Co. Great to have you on board, Rachael ๐ŸŽ‰

Nick Gard took the core values slot on positivity, and James Owens followed with the education slot on accountability. A good pairing to start the morning.

Then two featured presentations:

โœˆ๏ธ Emma Jones, Travel Counsellors. Emma is a personal travel planner who handles the bits people do not have time for or do not know how to do. Tailor made trips, honeymoons, cruises, malaria free safaris that suit families with little ones, and the big multi generational holidays with a lot of moving parts. She starts with how you want a trip to feel rather than where you want to go. If you know someone dreaming about Japan or Sri Lanka and wondering where on earth to begin, that is Emma.

๐Ÿ’ป Peter Teal, MidDevon Digital. Peter builds websites designed to bring in work. Fast loading and easy for search engines to understand, built from scratch rather than a template, properly usable on a phone, and looked after once it goes live. He showed off the brand new site he has just built for our own Dan Currall at DC Plumbing and Heating. If you hear someone say their website is embarrassing, that they cobbled it together themselves, or that it looks wrong on a mobile, that is one for Peter.

Fancy coming along? We meet every Tuesday at the Tiverton Hotel, Blundells Road, Tiverton EX16 4DB. Doors at 9:45am, meeting 10am to 11:30am.

Another cracking Tuesday at BNI Perseverance โ˜€๏ธ

We met as always at the Tiverton Hotel for a morning full of energy and expertise.

We were delighted to welcome Kieran Heale of JFC (Jackman Fabric Care) as a visitor this week, over from our friends at Networking in Exeter: BNI City Wall. Kieran didn't just visit either, he took our education slot too, giving us a hands-on walkthrough of the BNI mobile app.

Two members then took the floor for their feature presentations.

Dan Currall of DC Plumbing and Heating spoke about the standards that separate a good business from a good tradesperson. Reliability, communication, and taking pride in the work whether the customer sees it or not. His before-and-after pipework comparison made the point better than words ever could.

Jake Foster of Chartered Edge Financial Planning followed with a clear look at how he helps people bring scattered pensions under one roof. If you know anyone who has changed jobs a few times, is nearing retirement, or has old pensions sitting untouched, Jake is the man to talk to.

We currently have open seats for an architect, estate agent, business coach, business solicitor and window cleaner. If any of those are you, or you know someone who fits, come along as a visitor and see what we are about.

Celebrating our July Notable Networkers

Each month we recognise the members who have gone above and beyond, and this week chapter president Kieran Sweeny presented certificates to our two notable networkers for July.

Dan Currall of DC Plumbing and Heating took the award for the most referrals passed, a reflection of the effort he puts into looking out for opportunities for fellow members week in, week out.

Tracey Clapp of Howden Insurance was recognised for the most Thank You For The Business, a real measure of the value her referrals have gone on to deliver.

Both awards capture what makes the chapter tick. Givers Gain in action, with members backing one another and everyone benefiting as a result.

Congratulations to you both.

The second of this week's featured presentations came from Tom Lipscomb of Buildrite Solutions.

While plenty of builders go for the straightforward jobs, Tom and the team at Buildrite take on the ones others walk away from. That means structural work, steel beam installs, extensions, new builds, timber frame construction and the sort of complex renovations that come with older or problem properties, where surprises tend to appear once the work begins.

Working closely with architects and structural engineers, they make sure every project is carried out safely and properly. But what really came through in Tom's talk was how much they care about the experience, not just the build. Building work can be stressful, so they put just as much into looking after the client as they do into the construction itself.

That care shows in their feedback. One client had a run of jobs done on his garage and praised the team for keeping him updated throughout, even by video message when he was away, and for fixing his garden gate without being asked. Another couple had Buildrite build their new eco-home from the foundations right through to the interior finish, and called them exceptional in every respect.

Tom summed up what every Buildrite customer can expect. Clear communication, with regular site updates and project photos. Reliability, turning up when they say and getting the job done. Accountability, taking ownership of every job, big or small. And problem solving, spotting and sorting issues often before they arise.

So if you hear someone worried that cracks are getting worse, unsure what is holding up an old house, or told by a builder that the job is too complicated, that is your cue. Think Buildrite.

Complex projects, simple values. Thank you Tom for a brilliant presentation.

This week we had two featured presentations. First up, George Bainborough of Seeway Trust.

For close to 30 years, Seeway Trust has been supporting vulnerable children, and in that time more than 750 children have been helped across the countries where they work. Today that means Ghana, Ukraine, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, with each country caring for children in its own way.

George shared some of the charity's most recent work, including the rescue of 20 children from slavery in Ghana. It is difficult subject matter, but the results speak for themselves. As George put it, they are happy children now.

Four years ago the Trust built a school in a remote rural area a couple of hours from Accra, funded by a single generous donor. It now educates around 300 children, with a minibus bringing pupils in from surrounding villages. George also shared the charity's plans for the future, having bought ten acres of land with the aim of rescuing and supporting many more children.

There are two simple ways to get behind the work. Sponsoring a child costs around ยฃ40 a month, or you can support the Trust for the price of a coffee a week, roughly ยฃ15 to ยฃ16 a month. Every contribution goes towards giving a child safety, an education and a future.

A moving and important presentation. Thank you George for sharing the work of Seeway Trust with us.

Another brilliant week at BNI Perseverance! ๐Ÿค

Duncan Attwood delivered a brilliant education slot this week on the difference between leads and referrals. A timely reminder that a true referral means having the conversation first, building the trust and making the warm introduction. That is the standard we hold ourselves to!

Our Core Values moment came from Emma Jones, who shared her personal take on Givers Gainยฎ โ€” it is about investing in the people around you and building relationships that benefit everyone in the room.

๐Ÿ’ผ Featured Presentations this week:

๐Ÿ  Tracey Clapp Cert CII โ€“ Howden Insurance โ€“ More human, less corporate. Local heart, no call centres. When thinking of who to refer, think MAD: Moving, Annoyed, Different!

๐Ÿ”จ Fred King โ€“ AK Construction โ€“ Detail-driven quoting: walk it, measure it, record it. Vague quotes become vague jobs, and vague jobs cost more!

๐Ÿ“Š Chapter stats to 7th July:
TYFTB: ยฃ87,008 | Referrals: 106

๐Ÿ† Networking Leaders:
TYFTB โ€“ Fred King (ยฃ35,585) | Referrals โ€“ Kieran Sweeney (19)

We are actively looking to fill seats for an Architect, Business Coach, Estate Agent, Commercial Solicitor and Window Cleaner. Know someone? Send them our way!

We have a seat going spare at BNI Perseverance. ๐Ÿ“ฑ

We're looking for a social media manager to join our chapter in Tiverton.

BNI is a referral networking group. One seat per profession, meaning if you do social media, that seat is yours exclusively. Nobody else around the table is competing with you for the same clients.

Every Tuesday at 10am, we meet at the Tiverton Hotel. You share what you do, who your ideal client is, and the members go out and recommend you. In return, you do the same for them.

It sounds simple because it is. It works because the people in the room actually want to help each other grow.

We are actively looking for a social media manager to pass referrals to. Our chapter has a target of ยฃ250,000 in referrals passed by September, with a longer term goal of ยฃ1,000,000 by March 2027. That's real business, passed between people who trust each other.

If you handle social media for local businesses, this could be the best business decision you make this year.

Come along as a visitor and see what it's all about. No commitment, just coffee and conversation.

๐Ÿ“ Architect Wanted โ€” Tiverton!

BNI Perseverance has an exclusive seat available for an Architect, and it is a genuinely exciting opportunity.

We meet every Tuesday at 10am at the Tiverton Hotel โ€” a room full of local business owners who are actively looking to refer work to people they know and trust.

Our chapter is already tracking towards ยฃ250,000 worth of referred business by September, with a bigger ambition of ยฃ1 million by March 2027. That is real business, passed between real people.

If you are an Architect looking to grow through the power of referrals, we would love to hear from you. There is only one seat per profession, so once it is filled, it is gone.

Interested or know someone who would be perfect? Drop us a message or come along as our guest. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Another brilliant Tuesday morning at BNI Perseverance! ๐Ÿ‘

We met at the Tiverton Hotel this morning and what a meeting it was. A huge welcome to our visitor Tony Pizii from Halo Protection โ€” great to have you in the room with us.

Daniel Currall delivered the core values presentation on Recognition, reminding us all to thank the people who send business our way. It's a simple thing that makes a big difference.

James Owens then took the education slot, covering the roles within our chapter and the power of one โ€” a timely reminder of just how much impact each member has.

Our featured presentations came from Jodie Rodgers at Staggered Scaffolding and Nick Gard at WSI Waverley Digital โ€” both giving a brilliant five minutes on what they do and why they're great at it.

And then came the recognition for June 2026...

๐Ÿ† Fred King โ€” ยฃ35,585 in thank you for the business
๐Ÿ† Kieran Sweeney โ€” 19 referrals
๐Ÿ† Nick Gard โ€” 12 one to ones
๐Ÿ† Ephraim Angus โ€” 71 points on the BNI member traffic lights

That's the power of Givers Gain in action. If you'd like to find out more about BNI Perseverance and whether there's a seat available in your category, get in touch.

Another great Tuesday morning at BNI Perseverance! โ˜€๏ธ

We met at the Tiverton Hotel on 30th June and it was a brilliant session from start to finish.

We were delighted to welcome two visitors this week: Alex from Knights, and Racheal from Final Finish Cleaning Company. Always great to have fresh faces in the room.

Two members took the spotlight with their 5-minute presentations. Andy Miller from Credo FS shared what he does and who he's looking to connect with, and Samuel Falana from Reign Supreme gave us a fantastic insight into his work. Both brilliant reminders of the talent sitting around our table.

Andy also took the time to present a written testimonial to our chapter president Kieran Sweeny. That kind of recognition means a lot in a chapter like ours.

In the education slot, James walked us through the traffic light system for participation, a really clear and practical framework for understanding how engaged and active each member is in the chapter.

And the headline? As of 23rd June, BNI Perseverance has passed ยฃ82,000 worth of recorded business so far this year. Not bad at all. ๐Ÿ’ช

We're also actively looking to fill a few open categories right now. If you work in recruitment, car repairs, HR, or cleaning services and you're based in or around Tiverton, there's a seat at our table with your name on it. Come along as a visitor and see what we're about.
