It was great to see the Caravan and Motorhome Club sponsoring the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2023.

The event was held at the amazing Harry Potter Studios Tour. What a stunning venue, and really interesting to see how much creativity and work goes on behind the scenes to make a film like this.

Episode 39 of My Caravan Industry Insights Podcast is part 1 (of 2 episodes) featuring interviews with people on the Bailey of Bristol Sahara Challenge media Road trip to Morocco.

What were the objectives of the trip?

What are the campsites like in Morocco?

This episode covers the start of the trip in Sagres, Portugal, the ferry from Spain to Morocco, and our journey all the way to Marrakesh.

This includes interviews with Simon Howard from Bailey, Nick Lomas from the Caravan and Motorhome Club, and Martin Fitzpatrick from Truma UK.

While I was at the NEC caravan show in February, I started planning the Caravan Writers’ The Caravan Writers' Guild’s annual industry dinner. We needed to find a new venue, so (in my role as Chair) I was joined by the Guild’s Media Officer (Michelle Barnett from Extreme Motorhoming Adventures) to look at a short list of places.
We chose The Lake at Barston Restaurant who invited us (plus secretary Nigel Hutson, and partners) for lunch last weekend to sample their food and service.
We enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning in October.
Details of the event will be shared with members and industry guests nearer the time.
