Jack and Bradley have been busy getting the baked beans ready for this Sunday’s world record attempt! 🫘🚣‍♂️

They’ve even got their very own theme song, Bean Machine, ready to cheer the team on throughout the challenge.

This Sunday, we’ll be attempting to paddle a raft with a bath full of baked beans from Barnstaple to Bideford, raising awareness and support for Children’s Holiday Foundation North Devon.

The raft will also have live GPS tracking, so you can follow us throughout the day and see how we’re getting on:

Celebrating 40 Years of Captain Beany! 🎉🛁🫘

Captain Beany is back in the bath of beans for a brand new world record challenge, paddling from Barnstaple to Bideford!

Captain Beany will be in the bath of beans, with the paddle team made up of Andrew, Chris, Demi, Steve, Rob, Mike, Martyn and Sharon helping power the raft along the route.

We’ll also have Dave from Bideford Soapbox Derby providing dry land support, and Jay Bird Photography. as the official team photographer.

What a brilliant show of support for our Bath of Beans challenge! 🛁🫘

A huge thank you to everyone helping make this world record attempt possible as we prepare to paddle a bath of beans 9 miles from Barnstaple to Bideford in support of Children’s Holiday Foundation North Devon.

This year also marks 40 years since Captain Beany famous 100-hour bath of beans world record, so it’s only right we celebrate with a brand new challenge!

Unfortunately, there wasn't an award win for Peak Online last night, but receiving a finalist certificate still brought a tear to the eye 😢.

Regardless, it was a fantastic evening and a great achievement to be recognised as a finalist.

Weather permitting, the challenge will take place on Sunday 21st June, starting in Barnstaple and finishing in Bideford.

This morning 🌄 we had a successful test run of the raft bath 🛁 ahead of our upcoming event to celebrate 40 years of Captain Beany and hopefully set a brand new world 🌎 record!

A huge well done to Jay Bird Photography. for stepping in to play the Captain, alongside an amazing crew: Rob Cartmel, Mike, Mikey, Steve Holland, Sharon, Demi, Dylan, Alexia Holland and Andrew 👏

Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support, dedication, and hard work of the whole team. A special shoutout goes to Dave from Bideford Soapbox Derby the master craftsman behind the build, who worked tirelessly to get the raft ready for today’s launch 🚤

We’d also like to thank North Devon Wake Park for kindly allowing us to use the lake before opening this morning, and Tarka Van Hire for providing top-of-the-range transport for the raft 🚐

Now the adventure continues as we move forward with plans to paddle from Barnstaple to Bideford in a bath 🛁 filled with beans 🫘
