We’re so excited to share the visual story behind the Chow Bella pop-up launch! 🍝🏮
We reached out to twin brothers Luca and Oscar on a whim after being inspired by their idea.
After realising they needed a fast design partner for their launch flyers, we were on a call with them that same day, and had designs ready for the printers by the next morning. From that quick win, we dove into a deep brand discovery workshop to explore the heart of their brand: a seamless, 50/50 melding of Chinese flavours and Italian techniques built on cherished family recipes.
The goal was to move beyond typical fusion and create something that felt bold, approachable, and celebrated their heritage. We wanted the brand to reflect the family energy of sharing a big meal together in a local pub setting. From our session, we created a set of custom hand-drawn illustrations of their signature dishes, portraits of the brothers, and a menu design that showcases their delicious small plates selection.
Bringing the experience of their kitchen into the digital space was key. We leaned into their background in social media to help tell an authentic story that celebrates their mixed-race heritage and "home-cooked" soul. Every element was designed to be quietly confident yet professional, avoiding clichés while honouring the traditions of their "Nonna" and their Mum’s home cooking.
Since their launch in January in Salisbury, the pop-up has been a resounding success. Despite gruelling prep days, they’ve managed to sell out every single day, fuelled by a community that has fallen in love with their story on social media. We’ve tried the food ourselves, and it is genuinely incredible, experimental, grounded in tradition, and like nothing we’ve ever had before.
We are so proud to be part of this journey as Luca and Oscar continue to cook beautiful food and build a brand that’s as bold as their flavours. We can’t wait to see what we can cook up next! 🥡🐎💫
