Have a new business and don’t know where to start with marketing it?
1) Write a content plan. This just needs to be a spreadsheet (or list with dates on) saying what kind of things you could post about and when you will do it.
The important thing is to make it sustainable. So if you can only post once a week, do that but every week. If you can post every day- great! But don’t start posting every day and then give up after a fortnight
2) Choose which channels you’re going to use - I would suggest starting with Facebook if you’re a B2C business and LinkedIn if you’re B2B. It may be worth looking at launching Instagram too if you can cope with both (and you’re good at taking pictures) - but as I said above, stick with what you can manage and keep up!
3) This goes hand in hand with 1 really - but thinking about your content you need a range of types - you were a cafe you could do menu previews, lifestyle type posts, health posts, nice pictures of locations, happy smiling customers etc - it should be a good range of types of things
4) don’t expect to get hundreds of followers overnight - the important bit is that they’re relevant! So for a cafe that would be people who are local and will use your cafe and centre - you don’t want thousands of followers from all over the place.
Hopefully that gives you somewhere to start!
