Our latest impact report is out! We’ve produced an annual impact report for the past 7 years and it’s one of those things that becomes more and more worthwhile the longer you do it – kind of like yoga, or journaling.

Some of the highlights this year was the big rise in team happiness and a fantastic client net promoter score. We’re also doing well with the proportion of projects directly tackling UN Sustainable Development Goals but our volunteering policy is still not getting much uptake, so that will need a rethink in the next year.

is a Scottish distillery doing things differently. We have worked with them for a few years now on communicating impact, including their annual impact reports. They’ve just released their fourth one which is a celebration of the past 25 years of using their business as a force for good.

Based on the island of Islay, they make what they call ‘thought-provoking spirits’ – single malt scotch whiskies and gin produced and bottled on Islay, using local barley and botanicals, by local Islay people. Everything they do comes from a connection to the spirit of the land and their community. This sense of place and people really permeates the pages of their impact reports, and they’re always a lovely and inspiring read. Bruichladdich’s acknowledgement of both responsibility to, and reliance on, their surroundings is what we need more of in business and the world. We are super proud to have designed another piece of their impact story.

Big thanks to sustainability consultant copyeditor Beth Derry for lending your expertise and to Amy Brownlee for trusting us with your story – always an absolute pleasure working with you!

Once the idea was clear, the next step was getting it ready for the real world.

We worked with to build out the visual and verbal identity and make sure it shines across print, digital and physical spaces.

From zines and posters to sweatshirts, decks and social posts. A system that works wherever it needs to go.

Along the way, we collaborated with a brilliant group of people to help bring different parts of it to life.

It’s been designed to travel. To be picked up, shared and adapted.

We’re really excited to see No Trees No Seas out in the world this week, with the documentary premiering at Anthropy at the Eden Project.

Keep an eye out for more film screenings around the UK.

Trees and woodlands operate on a different timeline than marketing campaigns. Early on in the No Trees No Seas process we realised that it wasn’t really a campaign, but a movement that needs to live for 20 years or more.

So the cornerstone of the visual exploration was developing a symbol that can outlive the current moment. We wanted it to be something people could use, not just a logo. Simple enough to draw with a pen, in the sand, on a sign.

You’ll see it used as part of the badge, but it isn’t stuck in that form. It can be picked up by anyone to share and remake.

The ‘sea tree’ shows a tree with waves running through it. There’s also an arrow in there, pointing to growth and progress.

It shows how forests and seas are connected, and how one shapes the other. You can even spot an equals sign – No Trees = No Seas – all in four strokes.

What if the key to healing our oceans lies on land?

Forests and seas are part of the same living system – a flowscape. Forests feed and protect the sea. Fish and seabirds carry nutrients back to the forest.

When we cut down the trees, that flow breaks and the whole system suffers.

No Trees No Seas is about restoring that connection.

We’ve been working with and collaborators to help bring the movement to the world, shaping the visual identity and creating tools for others to carry it forward – from the hero symbol to zines and merch, partner materials and social content.

The goal is to plant 500 hectares of so-called ‘fish forests’ across Cornwall over the next five years to help restore these flowscapes, and change how we think about restoring nature 🌊🌳

Great working with you all!

Small Foundation is a philanthropic foundation based in Ireland. Their work supports micro, small and medium sized enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa.

When they came to us, their brand and website no longer reflected the scale or calibre of their impact. We evolved their visual language to better reflect their mission, designed and built a new website that makes it easier to explore their research, partnerships and system-level impact, alongside an impact report microsite.

The result is a fresh, low carbon digital home for an organisation that’s helping reshape rural enterprise to fight extreme poverty.

We’ve just wrapped a few days at what we dubbed Camp LEAP. Days spent staying at a beautiful old National Trust house on the beautiful Helford, where the trees lean into the tide and you can feel the place breathing around you.

We spent time with Plant One’s Carl Rowlinson, digging into the magic of the Helford and the way land and sea intertwine and support each other. Steve Fuller and Manda Brookman joined us too, helping us get sharp on where we’re heading and how we want to work together as a team and with our clients.

In between the thinking bits, we cooked, walked, swam (wild weather and all), skimmed stones, played games and let the surroundings seep into our hearts and minds. A small pause to reset, recharge and remember why we do what we do.

Nature connection is the pulsing heart of LEAP. A few days immersed in it always brings us back to that source, and back to the studio with a bit more energy and spark ⚡️

How do you keep people engaged through a complex climate action guide? By giving it a bucketload of playful character and interactive moments, making it feel more like a game than a chore.

SHIFT (the Super High-Impact Initiative for Fixing Tomorrow) from Dr Kimberly Nicholas and Project Drawdown is built around five “climate superpowers” – what you can do as a Citizen, Investor, Professional, Consumer, and Role Model.

We created expressive characters and colourful animations for each one, helping to turn scientific concepts into a human and memorable experience.

Tackling climate change is serious but the way we inspire action doesn’t have to feel heavy.

If you’re seeing this post, odds are that you’ve asked yourself – while clutching your reusable water bottle – what can I actually do to address climate change?

Together with Project Drawdown and Dr Kimberly Nicholas, we helped bring to life SHIFT (the Super High-impact Initiative for Fixing Tomorrow) – a climate choose-your-own-adventure guide that helps people take action that genuinely makes a difference.

Built with the logic of a game, branching paths, adaptive choices, and character-led journeys, SHIFT guides people towards real-world action, tailored to their lives and circumstances.

Serious science, seriously engaging.
