πŸ”Š ANNOUNCEMENT TIME πŸ”Š

Thank you so much to everyone who entered the Kent Press & Broadcast Awards this year.

After much deliberation by the panel of independent judges over all 142 entries, we can now reveal the finalists at https://www.kpbawards.co.uk/finalists

The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on 3 July, where Paul Brand, the UK Editor for ITV News and presenter of ITV’s current affairs programme Tonight, will be hosting.

A massive thank you to the sponsors who make the not-for-profit scheme possible.

JUDGING IS COMPLETE! πŸ‘

The finalists for this year's Kent Press & Broadcast Awards will be announced on Wednesday afternoon. A big thank you to our panel of independent judges who - as always - were passionate about their choices.

Rachel was at the session to take notes but Maxim has no say in the judging process, just as it should be.

If you've entered , you'll receive an email on Wednesday and we'll reveal the full list of finalists on the website.

You really can't beat Canterbury Cathedral Lodge on a sunny day - it's a wonderful setting for the Kent Press & Broadcast Awards sponsors' lunch.

A huge thank you to the organisations supporting . This isn't a money-making scheme but rather a labour or love; sponsorship means every finalist can attend the awards ceremony for free, we can have a well-respected journalist to host and even prize money. Roll on 3 July!

We store A LOT of equipment for the events, public exhibitions and award ceremonies we run - but it's not usually in our meeting room.

We're in the process of moving it all so for now, Erica has to squeeze in amongst the banners and boxes to get a bit of peace and quiet πŸ˜‚

πŸ“Έ Never one to miss an opportunity for a selfie!

Thanks to the IoD for inviting our MD Andrew Metcalf to speak at last night's black tie dinner.

Andrew was talking about the big opportunities and challenges facing Kent but he also threw in Noggin the Nog, Subbuteo, Mick Jagger and Charles Dickens. Ask him about that next time you see him...

✈️ Now that we've just about recovered, we can tell you a bit more about the launch of the world's first waste plastics to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) pilot facility.

♻️ Operated by Clean Planet Technologies and based at Discovery Park, the Sustainability Innovation Centre tackles the growing problem of hard-to-recycle waste plastics and the environmental impact of the aviation industry.

πŸ—žοΈ Our role was to assist with the event management and handle the media relations - and that part isn't quite over yet as coverage continues to come in.

πŸ“Ί Huge thanks to Fiona Irving of BBC Kent and Nailah Mahomed of KMTV for coming along on the day, and to the media that have shown such an interest since.

πŸ“Έ Professional photos were taken by the lovely Andy Jones and there's a few behind the scenes shots here too (not by a professional!)

⭐ FREE TO A GOOD HOME ⭐

Can anyone make use of this exhibition system? The boards can be used over and over as materials are attached using Velcro. I think there are 11 boards in total.

It's heavy but all packed up and ready for collection from Maxim in Tunbridge Wells next week.
