Something pretty special is happening for small businesses across Sunderland. π
On Monday night, a group of us got together with Market Collective for an evening that was part of the Digitising the High Street project. And honestly, calling it "networking" doesn't do it justice.
There was nobody waiting their turn to sell at each other. No agenda. Just a genuine community of small-business owners who actually want to see each other do well β swapping ideas, sharing a laugh, and cheering each other on (quite literally up a climbing wall, in my case).
That community is the whole point of Digitising the High Street. It gives independent shops real, funded, practical help to get found online and bring more people through the door. And, just as importantly, people in their corner while they do it.
From Adventure Sunderland to Reynold's Outdoor Centre, The Flowerchild Florist, FruFru & Friends and loads more brilliant local businesses, it's a proper community building each other up.
Oh, and we ended the night on a boat off Roker, surrounded by dolphins. Just because. π¬
The best bit? The project's carrying on across Sunderland for another term. And I'd love to see this kind of support reach high streets right across the North East.
If you're a small business owner in the area and you'd like to be part of it, we'd genuinely love to have you. Drop me a message, or get in touch with Racheal at Market Collective.
