Thanks very much everyone who voted for the charity single 'Do you Wonder' as it won the Prog magazine Tracks of the Week poll. Here is the post- Congratulations to the musicians behind the charity prog single, Do You Wonder?, namely Airbridge's Lorenzo Bedini and Amanda Lehmann, along with Sensational Alex Harvey band guitarist Zal Cleminson, former Pendragon drummer Fudge Smith and Solstice's Andy Glass. It won last week's Tracks Of The Week, helping raise money for Amnesty International.

I am promoting the single 'Do You Wonder' that aims to highlight the issue of those caught up in war and to raise much needed funds for Amnesty international. It features a number of well known prog musicians who have united to form a prog supergroup on the songs. Led by Amanda Lehman, and Lorenzo Bedini (Aibridge) it also includes Zal Cleminson (Sensational Alex Harvey band), Steve 'Fudge' Smith (Ex Pendragon), Billy Mcgonagle (Orphans of the Ash) and is mastered by Andy Glass (Solstice). You can vote for the single in the Prog / Louder Tracks of the week should you wish to to highlight the song and its cause. Here is a link to do so should you wish to- https://www.loudersound.com/music/music-videos/prog-tracks-march6?fbclid=IwY2xjawQdBSFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETBqb0RJdVRlSG1xYVlOMGYwc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHjri1FgIrsO5OkmKZLdXgNoX8-mmPlkIKs6n0muCn07Ig0EvK0gJb4_mRRPN_aem_tRTRYJM2g4lS22yCFtD_9A

I very rarely post anything about things that i have managed to achieve for artists on my page but i thought that I would today about some of the things that i have managed to obtain just this week for some of the artists albums that i have been working on. For one artist who has an album launch tonight i have managed to obtain a glowing review in folking.com, 5 bits of airplay on community radio stations, airplay in Australia and one of only 4 albums chosen by Jude Rogers in her monthly albums of the month for the Guardian. For another it has been an amazing week with airplay on the Radio 2 folk show on Wednesday, an interview on Travelling folk on BBc radio Scotland last night, a BBC radio 3 In Tune session and interview today, airplay in Australia, a featured album of the month in Klof magazine, and airplay on 4 community radio stations. Add to this a belated 4 star review for an artist at the end of his campaign from the Morning Star by a reviewer who only chooses 3 albums a month to review and a review for another artist from At the Barrier today which concludes with the words that it 'might just be the best thing i've heard so far this year' you can see that it has been a good week here at Penguin Mansions (less mansion and more hovel like). Should you, or any artists that you know require an album campaign, or single, or promotion for your tour or concerts by all means be in touch and i will do my best to try and obtain things like this for you as well. Stay well and warm.

Very sad to hear the news about the death of Michael Chapman. I was fortunate to work with Michael running the press and promotion for his tours and concerts and organising radio interviews and sessions for him from 2012 through to his 80th birthday concert earlier this year. His agent Graham (a great chap) who was the reason that I got to work with him, once said that I was the only person who could persuade Michael to do interviews. A Yorkshireman through and through you knew where you stood with Michael, a great sense of humour, very dry, and anecdotes aplenty. I have quite a few too. When I booked him onto the Marc Riley show on BBC 6 music as a guest the producer asked me if there was anything that he might like to do in the intervening hours between sound-checking and appearing on the show. Is there anywhere nearby that he can buy some decent cheese and bottles of ale to take home I enquired. She replied that there was a very good delicatessen nearby. Great take him there I replied. A few hours later I e mailed her to say how's Michael. Very happy she replied he found one of his favourites cheeses Stinking Bishop but while he's very happy i'm not sure I can cope with the smell of it. Needless to say Michael was in great form on the show that night. Simple pleasures like that made him happy. I will miss working with him and that bluff Yorkshire attitude, which even though he had been living in Cumbria for many years he hadn't lost. RIP Michael. you were a true one off.

I have been promoting The Magpies new single 'I will Never Marry' , and their forthcoming festival so it was nice to hear the single played and the festival mentioned on tonight's BBc radio 2 folk show. Thanks very much also to all the Community radio DJ's who have played them and mentioned the festival recently as well. News of their September tour soon as well. Meanwhile here is a link to the podcast of tonight's show-
