House portraits every-time!
Wonky country homes that been part of generations full of memories are my favourite!

I worked on a comission this week for a family moving their parents from the beautiful brick building they all spent their childhoods in. It was the biggest honour!

And the wonderful thing about it being a digital portrait means it’s now sitting on not just one fireplace but three! (Extra prints of the same comission - family gift sorted!!)

Can you imagine wanting to frame your wedding table names… I suspect this lovely couple might! I was mega delighted when J&E asked me that do their wedding stationery after their invitations turned out so beauifully. But they then commissioned illustrations of the places they plan to explore on their honeymoon.

Such a gorgeous idea of there’s to tie it all in! And my first Japanese landmarks! And table names that can live on in a gallery wall at home!

Thanks you lovely pair for letting me be part of your wedding day! You know where I am for the first anniversary/ paper anniversary gift!

Like Magic! The type that can move trees, shrink hedges and remove the shrub that blocks the site lines to your front door.

The beauty of hand-drawing each house portrait is that I get to indulge in a little “big-picture” the start. This includes a wish list, can you add the bluebells from our back garden to the front, can you move the shrubs away from the door because I love this angle from the street or can you remove my neighbours tree so I can see our top windows. These are all common requests!

I am drawing my garden era!
Looser scribbles, wider strokes, blotting and scratching back… it all goes on in my house and garden portrait illustrations.

I have learnt not to stress about the slumps!
Or at least I think I have. Its true, I am worrier, but thus house portrait illustrator ( me 😉) is tryingbyo do better!

It’s been a strange work few weeks:
⭐ A mad dash to half term
⭐ Half term itself
⭐Then a slow week last week with family staying so the kitchen table office throwing me out of rhythm

Truth be told, my reach has taken a hit!
But I am trying to strive forward, hold onto the joy and remember that no one is perfect!

A sneak peak into my week!!
A daily walk, Daily illustrating of house portraits, a new few new art prints for my stall at and even a batch of elderflower cordial made.

A wholesome and outdoor loving week for me! This is my May.

I am off next week for half term, well on a massive wind-down and printer break! So I have crammed lots into these 7 days to get me prepped!
