I'm so, so proud to announce that our creative team has worked dilligently (for the past eight months) on two important exhibitions to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
In collaboration with the Royal British Legion, our Creative Director Chris Robinson has led the design, project management and delivery of two impactful exhibitions.
The 'Legacies of D-Day' exhibition is a poignant and unique journey that showcases portrait photography to narrate the stories of eleven D-Day veterans and their families. Chris Robinson's innovative use of 3-dimensional, layered art installations, instead of traditional framed photography, immerses visitors into each arrangement. The goal was to create a personal space for each veteran, providing a glimpse into their lives and the legacies they leave behind through their family connections.
The second exhibition, 'D-Day and the Battle of Normandy,' features a twelve-minute video created by sand artist Kseniya Simonova. The video depicts the journey of one man and his family from the outbreak of war to the events of D-Day and back to the present day. Viewers experience a compelling visual and auditory journey through time.
So far, both exhibitions have been warmly received by visitors and I want to thank everyone involved in making this special project a reality.
'Legacies of D-day' and 'D-Day and the Battle of Normandy' are now on display for three years at the newly constructed Winston Churchill Education and Learning Centre at the British Normandy Memorial in France. If that's too far to travel, you can view a temporary version of both exhibitions at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire until 21st July 2024.
