Anyone can design a logo, right?

The challenge isn't creating a logo. It's creating the *right* logo.

Before a single concept is developed, I spend time understanding the business, researching competitors, exploring visual territories and testing multiple directions.

What you're looking at here is just a snapshot of that process.

The final logo is only a small part of the work. The real value comes from ensuring it's distinctive, memorable and built specifically for the business it's representing.

You can buy a cheap logo in minutes. The problem is that it could look like dozens of others, fail to connect with your audience, and end up costing more when it needs replacing.

A designer doesn't just create a logo. They help position your business, differentiate you from competitors, and build an identity that's designed to grow with you.

It's never just a logo.
It’s how a brand shows up, stands out, and gets remembered.
From idea to ex*****on, this was built to challenge what a golf brand looks like.

Less tradition. More attitude.

This is how a brand is built

A recent project for 📸
Gareth is my go to photographer for any projects I have in mind. His work is outstanding.

I worked with Gareth to create a set of social media graphics that showcases his stunning photography while maintaining a clean, professional, and consistent brand presence across his channels.

The aim was to let the imagery do the talking, using bold layouts, subtle typography, and a design approach that reflects the quality and creativity behind Gareth's work.

Always great to collaborate with passionate local businesses and help bring their visual identity to life online.

After months of building behind the scenes, the Amore website is officially live.

Why Amore? It’s a variation of my middle name, Amour — something personal that felt right from the start. More than just a name, it reflects the thinking behind the studio: creating work with intention, purpose and impact.

Built from the ground up, Amore brings together branding, campaigns, web design and creative direction in one space — helping brands stand out, not blend in.

This is just the beginning.

Generic logos

Problem
We’ve all seen them — roofing and joinery logos that look almost identical. A roof shape, a few lines, a bold font… and suddenly every brand blends into the next.

Approach
For ADG, the client wanted to keep the roof element, but that didn’t mean it had to look like everyone else’s. We reworked the shape into a distinctive, modern mark that reflects the business while creating something unique and memorable.

Outcome
The result is an identity that feels professional, recognisable, and unmistakably ADG — standing out in a crowded market instead of disappearing into it.

We don’t do off-the-shelf logos that blend in. We create identities that stand out.

I hear it all the time: "Why do we need a designer when AI can do the job?"

Here's a perfect example.
I asked AI to create a logo for The Growing Zone (Image 1). It produced a professional-looking gardening logo. The problem? It could represent almost any community garden, landscaping company, or sustainability project.

There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but there's nothing distinctive about it either. It blends into the thousands of AI-generated logos already out there. And when scaled up, the quality starts to break down, becoming pixelated and limiting how it can be used across different applications.

The logo in Image 2 was created by a designer.
It doesn't just look good — it communicates an idea. The "g" becomes a modern, memorable brand mark, while the leaf symbolises growth and development. Together, they reflect the people, purpose and values behind the organisation. It's also been designed to work consistently across multiple touchpoints, from social media and signage to print and merchandise, without losing quality.

That's the difference between generating graphics and creating design that solves real business challenges.

Designers don't just make things look attractive. We understand people, ask the right questions, solve problems and turn strategy into something meaningful.

AI won't replace graphic designers. It will simply become another tool in our toolkit — helping us speed up processes, explore more directions and test ideas faster than ever before.

The creativity, thinking and problem-solving behind great design still come from people.
