A member of our team recently ordered some product samples online. Had the samples met expectations, there was a significant order ready to follow.
We won’t name the company or share photos, as it’s only fair to give feedback directly. That said, the experience highlighted something important.
The samples arrived just two days later, an excellent turnaround and genuinely impressive service. However, before even opening the envelope, an issue was suspected. Three small product samples loose inside a C4 paper envelope was not a good sign.
Unfortunately, the concerns were confirmed. One of the samples arrived chipped in several places and with a puncture mark. As the requirement was for something hard wearing (as stated in the product description), this ruled the product out and the order won’t be going ahead.
Having spent over 35 years dispatching letters and samples, our takeaway is simple: samples sell. They represent your product and your brand. Spending a little extra time and money on appropriate packaging can make a world of difference to how they’re received and perceived.
