Lovely to see AtKat Marketing featured on The Warwickshire Review! 😊

I recently joined because I think it’s a great way to discover and support local Warwickshire businesses.

But it’s more than somewhere to list your business. For me, it’s another marketing channel. Another way to get your business seen, share what you do and reach more people locally.

There are so many incredible independent businesses across Warwickshire, and it’s great to have somewhere that showcases them. And now you’ll find me on there too!

If you haven’t had a look at The Warwickshire Review yet, it’s definitely worth a browse – you might just discover a few Warwickshire businesses you didn’t know about.

If your marketing feels like a lot of effort for not much return, you're not doing it wrong. You've probably just got too many options and not enough of a plan.

Which is why we're delighted to welcome AtKat Marketing to the directory 👋

AtKat helps micro and small business owners bring clarity and consistency to their marketing. Kat works with businesses that are already doing something, posting on social media, sending newsletters, but aren't seeing the results they want, or feel overwhelmed by all the options out there.

The approach is practical, realistic and tailored to your business, your time and your capacity. Because there's no point in a strategy you'll never have the hours to actually deliver.

Through marketing strategy, planning and ongoing support, Kat helps business owners focus on what really matters, and create marketing that actually gets done.

No jargon. No overwhelm. Just a plan that fits your business.

🐾 Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

My four-legged colleague is never far away when I’m at my desk. ❤️

She’s there on the good days, the hard days and all the days in between – usually snoozing, keeping an eye on what I’m doing or letting me know when she thinks I’ve worked long enough!

She might not be much help with the marketing, but I wouldn’t be without her keeping me company while I work.

Happy International Dog Day to all the other four-legged work companions out there! 🐶

After a week off followed by a week getting back into the swing of things, somehow we’re heading into the last week of August!

My week off was a chance to properly log off from work. I had a day in London with my son, celebrated his A Level results, caught up with a couple of friends and finally got a few jobs done around the house. A good mix of fun and ticking things off the list!

Then it was back to work last week, including welcoming a new client to AtKat Marketing, which is always exciting! I also had a couple of meetings about an exciting new project, alongside marketing strategy, content and ongoing work for my other clients.

This week is all go again, with lots going on!

What’s on your list for the last week of August? 😊

On Friday, I had my first coworking session with Jo Querelle (Purple Orchard Bookkeeping) and Sarah Hands (SJ Accountancy) at The Craftsman, Warwick.

It was a really productive day. We all got plenty ticked off our to-do lists, with a bit of chatting and sharing of ideas along the way.

Great food from The Craftsman kept us going, followed by a glass of wine before heading home.🍷

A lovely way to finish the working week before taking this week off to relax and enjoy some of the summer weather!☀️

Here's a quick marketing challenge.

Can you answer these three questions?
• Who do you help?
• What problem do you solve?
• Why should someone choose you?

If those answers come naturally, brilliant.

If they don't, it could be a sign that your message isn't as clear as it could be.

The clearer you are about those three things, the easier every piece of marketing becomes.

I caught up with Sarah from The Warwickshire Review on Tuesday to chat about a collaboration we're working on.

We ended up having a really interesting conversation about how businesses use The Warwickshire Review as a marketing tool.

Many businesses invest in marketing opportunities, but don't always make the most of them.

Whether it's an online directory, networking group, social media, a website or even a Google Business Profile, I often see businesses investing time and money without having a clear plan for how they'll get the most from it.

The businesses that get the best results are usually the ones asking:
"How can I get the most value from this?"

They're thinking about how to maximise the return on the time, money and effort they're investing, rather than simply asking: "Should I do it?"

It's something Sarah and I are looking forward to exploring together in more detail. I'll share more about what we're working on soon....

The words "marketing plan" can make people think of a long document that'll never get looked at again.

It doesn't have to be like that.

A good marketing plan gives you direction. It helps you decide where to focus your time, what your priorities are and what you'll say no to.

It doesn't have to be long or complicated.

It just needs to work for you and your business.

I always encourage my clients to think of their marketing plan as something they use, not something they file away.

When you know what you're doing and why you're doing it, marketing feels much more manageable.

This week I had a quick marketing session with a business owner, and the focus was identifying their ideal client.

If you've been in business for a while, the answer is often right in front of you.

Take a look at your client list and look for the similarities.

Perhaps they:
• Work in the same industry.
• Are a similar size.
• Have similar goals.
• Face similar challenges.
• Value the same things.
• Are at a similar stage in their business.

The more similarities you can identify, the clearer your ideal client becomes.

Once you know who you're trying to attract, your marketing becomes so much easier.

Have you ever stopped to analyse your client list?

One of my favourite parts of my job is getting together with clients to plan what's coming next.

Yesterday I spent the morning with my long-standing client, Vinegar Tips, at Cobbs at Stratford, planning their marketing for the rest of the year.

It's good to have dedicated time to focus on marketing. Time to look at what's working, what could be better and what we'd like to achieve over the next few months.

We've got lots of exciting ideas to work on, and I can't wait to get started!

One of the things I enjoy most about my job is helping business owners untangling their marketing.

More often than not, they've been trying to do a bit of everything and wondering why it feels like hard work.

Sometimes, all it takes is stepping back. Looking at where your business is now, where you want it to be, and deciding what will make the biggest difference.

That's exactly how I work with my clients.
No jargon.
No complicated marketing speak.
Just practical advice, a clear plan and support to help you put it into action.

I love seeing a client's shoulders relax when they realise marketing doesn't have to feel so overwhelming.

If you've been feeling a bit stuck with your marketing, I'd love to help. Get in touch for a chat.
